With us spending 2 fuel/day to drive the thing (actually 1.75, I think, from engine upgrade making it take 1.5, and fertilizer which takes .25). We could take along 9 people. Of course, leaving the military behind isn't a great idea, so 4 people come along there, adwarf should definitely come along, just in case, and the farmer, pilot, and a gunner (probably edio, but who knows) are coming along, making 8. After that, there's the two (three with Elfeater's leaving) unclaimed pixels. Sure we could just leave them on MP, but how long will they take having 5 people mooch off of them for free, and what happens when the inevitable casualties thin the number of military men aboard? What if we have another Ehndras (i.e a coward unwilling to jump into combat. No offense, but that's exactly what happened)? We've got to have the extras aboard.

Where would the farms go? We could expand the hull, but the added weight will surely slow us down, and the metal required could be prohibitive.

I have to say, the wheel doesn't really look hollow, it looks pretty solid. Source?

In the end, though, I'll do as I've done a lot. I'll throw the decision to the people, have a vote.

By the way I had an idea and I'm introducing a morale feature next turn, low morale increases unrest (ie. how hubris died) it'll be treated like a resource with a 100 morale cap where some stuff gives morale per turn (cramped living space, access to entertainment) and then events and how much you guys argue, all that kind of stuff.

Having it high will grant bonuses, whilst having it low will give disadvantages in addition to a chance of fighting per day
Below 20 (1in6 chance of non-lethal fight, 1in36chance of lethal fight)
Below 10 (1in3 chance of non-lethal fight, 1in9chance of lethal fight)
Below 2 (1in2 chance of non-lethal fight, 1in4chance of lethal fight)

These advantages/disadvantages will probably happen in events like stuff taking a few days more or less, +1s in combat, ect. I'll start you of at 18 'cos lets face it, I would not want to live on Hope.

Me on skype, it's hollow due to the fact it was used as a food storage for the blue's habitat, fine too roll around on but don't expect it too resist damage well or cope under a heavier habitat

Sources:
1: GM (Realtime skyping with the GM can reveal a lot of things!)
Quote from:
It was originally part of that abandoned habitat, then stolen, chucked onto the top of another habitat and hollowed out and turned into a food storage before returning to another habitat who belived the wheel was there rightful property all along despite the fact it originally belonged to somebody else anyway
2: See that thing with food spilling out of it? That's apparently what we're getting.

And who says that expanding the farms a bit would weigh us down so much it slows us down? If I recall:
Adwarf investigates the engine, it seems to have a max capacity of 300 tonnes, the habitat only weighs 180 so it won't need upgrading for a while

EDIT: NINJA'D!

We could always just take back and repair our old, solid wheel and use that with our intact wheel instead of the hollow one

The engine has a max capacity of 300, true, but the formula for speed is (weight*engine (power I assume))-.2 Thus, any weight slows us down.

It's not that bad on Hope. Well, it is, but only some of us are murderous... Wait, I see the point, yeah 18 is perfectly reasonable.

When I said the engine has a max capacity of 300 I didn't have the formula if that was always in use at the 1st diagnosis you would have had a max capacity of *whips out scrap of paper and pen* 900? Holy shizzle changing equation, it's now:

Fuel (Used Per Turn)= Weight/Engine
Speed = (Engine(Quality)/Weight)-0.5

So initially you had a capacity of 360, engine quality 180, weight 180, speed 0.5 and efficiency 1

now capacity 480, engine quality 240 (compost incinerator and adwarfs tweaking), weight 270, speed 0.39 and efficiency 1.10

I'll try to make Hope a better place later.

But still, the benefits of tracks continues to outweigh the downside of more fuel consumption.

At the very least, don't shred them, I'll use them. (Don't ask how.)

My reasoning would be, that thing is your main base of operations. You want it durable, you want it to have constant up time. Expanding the farm is trivial, one piece of metal, one pixel, one turn. Super durable main base, that has the potential to make way more food, id go with that.

Machu is obviously fucking us over, though. If they're going to take our spoils after ever mission, then we're nothing more than slaves. If we're permanently trapped here, working to pay off the damage accrued by the last mission they gave us, are we nothing more than servants to the MP's leadership?

I'll help as an assistant for this turn on whatever is requested of me.

This is by no means true. Upgrading the farm is trivial if we have the room, which we don't. We can't just put in more farms where the Jenny Haniver lands, and we can't put them inside as for that we'd need lights and we don't have much space anyway. Adding a shield in front makes sense as we'll be the ones chasing the enemy, not the other way around, so our front will be exposed, not our backs.

Since Pyro is proposing a complete overhaul of the habitat, it would be trivial to make a farming area. Even with what you have now, it looks like it can be expanded to spaces.

An overhaul of the habitat would allow you guys to just custom design it with the new armor that Pyro is proposing, which will more then likely be stronger, and lighter. The reason I dislike the wheel idea is because of how fragile they are, and how easily an enemy can just 'side step' the habitat so to say, and take some pot shots at the supports, severely crippling your life blood.
