Just refuel them, and with virtually infinite fuel...

Just convert our massive harpoon gun into a MAC.

Here's my suggestion for what our battle tactics should be:  We should get the anti-habitat harpoon that we've been planning, along with other weaponry meant to disable enemy habitats, and in a battle, once we've disabled the enemy habitat, we kill the people inside and loot the mostly intact habitat.  That way, we could get as many resources as possible while using as few as possible.

Just refuel them, and with virtually infinite fuel...

That just not-so-handily dodges my point, those missiles cannot possibly be invulnerable to destruction from the massive stress of launching it at a rigid mass at high enough speeds to do damage.

Additionally, we only have infinite fuel in the sense that we can never run out of fuel when driving. We get a surplus of .25 fuel/day, which doesn't seem enough to build more or restock ammo.

I cna upgrade her on my own thank you very much, but we still need to work together I can't keep her running, and have you guys messing around with her balance, and chassis strain.
i think we were only at a bit over half capacity chassis strain when you explored the first tiem, we should still have plenty of space.

Also, Battle Tactics is my area guys >.>

Why ram them when we could hit them from a distance? if it bounces off them, then use our speed advantage to escape.
One word. Ammunition.
Two Words: Retractable Harpoon-Ram.  Big spool of rope or chain or such, sharpened town-mounted launcher and harpoon. No ammunition problems, just wear. Make it strong enough to pierce a decent armor class, smash the hole wider with a secondary fire ram-like hunk of hard material. Retract harpoon, charge in! Retrieve large chunk afterwards.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

I've often wondered what is the mechanism that fires the harpoon in a harpoon gun. Is it a shaped charge, compressed air, magic? Unless we're throwing it, there's still something that needs to be expended to fire it, which will probably be not-so infinite fuel.

Make the harpoon rocket powered instead of spring powered for MASSIVE DAMAGE!

Then it would also be compatible with a ripple-rocket launcher.

Springs in the game, in real life, they are basically modified rifles that use a blank to fire.

*cough* First Law of Thermodynamics *cough*

What's going to wind the springs, hmm? Us? That energy's got to come from somewhere, and it's going to take a lot of time and people-power if the pixels have to do it. If the energy source is fuel, then I've no idea where we're going to come up with enough fuel unless we're just going to sit around for a bunch of days growing food and pressing it. Of course, we could do that anyway and just wait until day infinity when we'll have infinite cash...

Obviously, the answer is more infrastructure (and resource-acquirement) first. I know it would take forever right now, but it sounded like a good idea.

He was talking about the hand-helds.

The big one should be rocket-powered. We can expand the farms to compensate for increased fuel use, plus the engine being more efficient if it's upgraded. Besides, it wouldn't take all that much fuel for the rocket.

This is just great. If only someone were to propose something with a crystal in vacuum...

*cough* Second Law of Thermodynamics *cough*

Still have to compensate for remaking broken down ammo, still have to compensate for the cost of the fuel (which could otherwise be sold), still have to deal with the same arguments.

I don't quite know when someone started taking about the hand-helds, though. I was using the much smaller example of the harpoon gun to further my argument albeit in a rather sarcastic way, I will admit.

Your argument is that we are all to fight in close-quarter-combat, and all have a good chance of dying because you think bigger weapons are wasteful!

A Habitat-class weapon will increase our chances of survival when we engage in combat! We don't have to expend any resources other than fuel, which is manufactured! We can even increase fuel output by upgrading or duplicating our press! As for "Broken down ammo", who says we can't scavenge that up and make new ammo with it? Recycle our ammo, even if it breaks!

Well, technically they are somewhat wasteful with our current resource stocks. Later on, they should be worth it more easily.

I'll design a mining scanner and drill, then. Then we'll never run out of metal, so long as someone is mining!
