Have at ye, opponents!

Hmm, this is gonna be intense. People are gonna die with this battle, and I seriously dout that we can take control over that, frankly huge, airship by ourselves. I agree with being a combat engineer, I'm game for that, but what exactly is the commando squad going to be doing?

Lets see if I can rig up some anti air guns from those drones. If I cannot do that, then take them apart and make everyone who is taking part in the battle offensively some body armor, commandos first. Also, take a shotgun, and maybe rig up a few thrown explosives.

We have shotguns, mate. Those will be of more use inside the ship.

Commando Squad, led by me, is to get to the control room and issue a surrender order. Just like we were told in the last update to do.

This being the Control room, it's fairly obvious why Aklyon is coming along, and you're there in case of any... technicalities with the equipment.

Due to the importance of this mission, we get any body armor first. Then Combat Squad, Then Commando-Engine Break-off, and Jack's will probably be equipped by the Machos (Machu Soldiers).

Why would we even blow up their engines? We don't need to slow them down when we're already on the airship, and we're going to need it if we ever take control. Even if we don't take control of it and it simply crashes into the ground, destroying the engine just seems like a waste of time and manpower. Unless, of course, it's simply an attempt to be rid of me, something which I can't rule out, but certainly can't be sure of.

If you were talking about my thrown explosives, then I am only designing them for anti-personel reasons. Otherwise, no comment.

He has a point there. WHat good is a giant airship with no engine in this world, besides scavenger catnip?

Damage, not destroy the engines. If we manage to make the thing land (It should still be able to do that! Just because it doesn't have engines doesn't mean it will crash immediately!) we can gain a considerable advantage. Machu probably cannot use the majority of its weapons on Abu while it's airborne, but if we can ground it...

To quote the GM, and please pay attention to the BOLDED section:
"I want you to choose three men to help in the assault in your aircraft and another to accompany Jack who will be riding in one of our blimps, whilst the others try to destabilize Abu Merci by sabotaging the balloons and propellers I want you too infiltrate their command center and attempt to gain control of the habitat and demand surrender before returning back, with any luck as those drones have helped us once they'll do the same again. After that well, maybe it'll be time to part ways"

I think the engine is a perfectly acceptable target to destabilize Abu without being exposed to the top deck or trying to use the pathetic machinegun on the Jenny Hanniver and risk losing that asset.

We don't need to come up with other ways to destabilize the Abu Merci as Mason has already given us a reason. If it doesn't have propellers, then it can't move. That's pretty destabilizing by itself, and breaking an engine won't force it to the ground. Even damaging and risking the destruction of a very valuable engine when we can get the same result just by damaging a rather cheap propeller or even cheaper balloon is simply wasteful.

As to the ease of taking out the propellers or balloons, how can it be risky going onto the top deck? All you have to do is pop your gun up through the hatch and shoot out all the balloons. Its not as if they're hard to hit, especially with a shotgun. I also have to say that balloons don't care how puny your bullets are, they cannot be armored or else be completely useless and so are really easy targets.

I also notice you're ignoring of my other point, so I'll ask perhaps a more pointed question. Why put me, a pilot, out to use explosives, a field of knowledge that pilots, especially when I'm essentially a truck driver, tend not to have? Although I may or may not have a knowledge of engines, would not a mechanic be more useful in this adventure, however ill-thought out?

I am going as well, remember? I do reckon that disabling that engine would help, but it would also be wasteful to damage it. Just shutdown the fuel feeds and kill the engineers, and that should be fine. Also, I presume that we are going to be landing on the deck somewhere, or dropping down on lines to higher sections of the ship, so we should be able to nail some propellers and ballons on the way to the control center.

Let's see, that image, what little it was, showed quite a bit of crap between the deck and balloons, plus deck-mounted weapons,
The propellers would likely have some kind of protection near them to head off any such attacks,
The damn thing has planes that would shred our blimp if we left it exposed too long,
I would have to leave a person with you unless you can somehow operate a blimp and a machinegun at the same time,
And breaking an engine would slow, if not stop, all of it's motion. If that thing relies not only on balloons, but thrust as well (Very likely, that thing looked too heavy for what little ballon space it had!), it may just be forced to land, if slowly. It would certainly get within range of Machu's guns very quickly.

Also, I am not asking you to use explosives... I am asking you to damage a piece of equipment that is likely to be unarmored. Bullets from a shotgun could wreak havoc on it, in all likelihood. I'm fairly sure a "Truck Driver" can fire a shotgun.

And Zako is with me. You are with me too until you break off to go to the engine room.
