Yop. Sorry dude. Useful as decoration though. Or give it to your cap'n of the guard as a status symbol.

Can't even hang it to display anywhere unless you've got mods!  Waste of zinc!

yea. Whole reason I did the -_- face. I was really excited too, Urist mcpossed ran into my magma forge and then grabbed a silver colored bar from the stockpile next to it. It happened to fast for me to see what happened but I was hoping for that silver artifact warhammer. :( alas.

Armorsmiths don't produce warhammers...

It was a peasant. he had no training in anything I believe :/ unless he was one of the 4 lv6 armorsmith peasants I have. I'm sorry but after the mountainhome sends me 6 lv6 Armorsmiths, I have to ask where are my talented weaponsmiths? I just don't know :(

A lvl6 armorsmith isn't a peasant, he's an armorsmith...  Any skill that's level 1 removes the peasant job and adds the specific skill job.

Peasants produce crafts, only armorsmiths produce armor.  It must have been an armorsmith.

My bad, I have a custom profession in Dwarf Therapist called peasant. every job except hauling and such turned off. I mean you need someone to do the manual labor right? and armorsmith dwarf 3,4,5,6 seem like the folks for the job. So not trying to be confusing, but my game reports is as Urist McPeasant is taken by a mood... Urist mcPeasant claimed a magma forge etc. etc. so I didn't really check therapist to see what he would be doing in there, as I didn't think about it. I just knew a dwarf was doing something in the magma forge.

which is why I was hoping for the warhammer. I could have squashed my hopes by checking therapist but I didn't think about it. and I was positive he grabbed silver too :/

Is the artifact adorned with silver?  It's the first material that matters, the ones after that are applied as decorations.

I give my dwarves custom nicknames, usually "blank" or "serf" and leave their profession alone.

why wish for silver when you can wish for platinum?

I have to admit, I sometimes cheat and  try to encurage such by forbidding everything but what I want, but I feel so dirty afterwards ;_;  (or end up with a useless platinum spear instead)

I don't see that as cheating.  That's proper utilization!

That isn't guilt that you're feeling. It's the shame of knowing that you haven't gone far enough. If you get something stupid, there's nothing wrong with savescumming and hoping for a better artifact.

You should make brass with that zinc, it's actually not bad for weapon and armor stuff.
