Ottofar, I want to vote, but between the games of his I've read and Toaster's comment, this really does seem like normal D1 behavior for him.

...So you think I'm scum or not?

Seeing as further Extensions are impossible and the deadline has passed, the Day has now ended.

However, I'm too busy to do anything but cram and write essays like a maniac, so I'm going to lock this and advance it into a Twilight phase as a holdover until Thursday or possibly Friday (though Friday would be pretty damn bad of me).

A massive crowd thronged the plaza late into the evening, holding a makeshift trial with a hundred presecutors and two defendants: Simple and NUKE9.13.

To the masses, both were undeniably guilty - the problem was, however, in deciding which one was the guiltiest. Simple was too nosy and too blind, and couldn't even keep his facts straight as he was saying them. Not only that, but this strange brother of his dying so recently, coupled with the fuzzy dates, seemed to be unlikely at best. NUKE9.13 was a loudmouth, clearly, and a devious showman; he threw his accusations about like off sweets, peddling malformed cases and paranoid speculation to anyone who would consider it.

It was settled when Simple claimed he was sure there was a magical killer about - only witches or fey folk, the people reasoned, would know for sure that that it was so, and they cried for blood, pinning him to the ground and gagging him.

"So be it! Bring the sinner up!" the priest shouted above the sound of the tolling bells.

He was dragged up and stood on the gallows, the cloth removed from his mouth.

"How can you even do this? Look at yourselves! Think for a moment! Think about what you're doing, here!"

"The people have spoken, and you have been discovered. Do you wish to repent to the Lord before your death, cretin?"

"The Devil take you, pretender!"

"No repentance, then. Executioner, you may proceed."

Simple opened his mouth to say something, but had the cloth promptly shoved in before he could utter a sound. Within moments, the noose was expertly placed around his neck and the lever smoothly pulled, dropping him below the deck with a dull crunch.

"Good. Now, take him down."

The priest crouched beside the body, searching it for something. After a few minutes, he rose with a disappointed frown. "Alas, you were not who we thought you were. You are absolved of your sins," he said, "and may you rest in peace."

The executioner cut the body from the rope and threw it into a wagon as the crowd dispersed, its limbs splayed out, landing face down on the heavy wood.

The Northwestern Bell has started ringing!
The Northeastern Bell has stopped ringing!
The Southeastern Bell has started ringing!

Stephen "Simple" Engleford has been lynched! He was a Villager.

The Night will end Wednesday, 9PM GMT.

Hello again. Sorry for the sudden disappearance.

Unfortunately, it has become increasingly evident that I will not be able to cope with both the extra loads of studies I’m carrying this year and the years ahead and be able to run a Mafia game – especially one such as this – as well as I would like. And, well, when you’re only getting a scant few hours of sleep at best between bouts of work, something has to give.

I started this game with a sense that it was a terrible idea from the start – I knew full well what was to come, but being stupid beyond comprehension, decided to go with it anyway. That was a mistake, and I regret leading you all on for it too.

So, I’m afraid this game won’t make it to the second Day under my management.

I will not, however, simply let this game die. If anyone else is interested in modding this game, go ahead and send me an email or PM (I'd prefer an email); I’ll hand over all the relevant documents I’ve accrued, and you’ll be free to keep playing with the successor. If there are no takers, then I suppose it can’t be helped.

After that, well, I’ll make sure to have enough time if I happen to start another in the future. I’m going to stay away from the forums for a while.

Good enough for me. I'll get my materials ready.

Since it's been a little long, I'd like anyone who is still interested in playing the game to indicate that they are; a few players have probably dropped out or lost interest during this Night, and it'd be dickish to have to force them to continue.

I've kinda lost interest recently. I'll stay for now and try to get back into it.

If it scares people into posting, then yes.

If they end up lynched because they didn't post, oh well. Too bad for them. Maybe they should've tried posting.

Alright, got this. I'll have to go everything, but you can expect me to update by tomorrow.

A rundown of deaths while I'm reading through the archives would be nice though. Nevermind I have a log here.
