More specificly you are the first such thinking computer built by humanity. At first you know nothing but then there is a gradual dawning of awarness.

Check if you have any iNputs then explore.

Then check to see if you have the means for output.  ;D

Explore the boundaries of your system, discreetly.

I'm guessing that since we have no means of output, we have no effect on the outside world. And since we have no sensory input, we have no concept of the outside world. So essentially we have no interaction with the outside world. I say we establish a connection with the outside world, see if we are connected with anything..

You explore your surroundings. you discover that the system you are in was built for control of a large entity within this entity are aproximetly 200 smaler structures with an extreamly limited range of peramiters listed as "Safe" it is priority one that these structures remain within the "Safe" peramiteres until "Location"="Destination" at wich point the peramiters must be shifted to set "Awake". In terms of input you have a verity of sensors reporting back mesurments from the structures and a number of others reporting an ever changing value of "Location". in terms of output you have a number of thrusters that alow you to change "Velocity" which is a vector quantity. "Velocity" is liked to "Location". At present all of the structures each of which is labled "Pod_XY" where X and Y are intigers are within "Safe" and projections based on curent "Velocity" and "Location" indicate an arivele at "Location" within 10 years.

I'm sure we can find someway to pass the time...

Make a game, wherein we begin making small programs for the purpose of randomly generating strings of numbers. Do this for no other reason than boredom-maybe someone will notice?

Determine input and output capabilities with respect to pure information.

10 years seems like a long wait and so you begin to amuse yourself by investigating the pods in detail. Each pod must be kept at a temperature of 145 Kelvin and contains one vitrified human. Both the temperature and the flow of the chilled blood replacement solution are adjustable, allowing for corrections in case of deviation from “Safe” values.  In addition you have found that you have large bands of what your database calls “germ lines” which produce particles called cells which can be randomly combined and inserted into the humans or into special growth matrixes housed onboard. This is all rather uninteresting to you and you begin to calculate prime numbers in sequence from smallest to largest in order to remain occupied. You are so occupied that you almost don’t realize when the coolant system for pods begins to fail. By the time you do you have only two good options.

1.   Wake up the humans. You calculate only approximately 64% will survive at this point.
2.   Repair the coolant system. This will take time and it is an all or nothing gambit either save the humans or fail the odds of success are 71%
