What gets to me is the time it takes for sneaking & swimming.
I've only ever done this in the arena, but holding down 'right' on the keypad and then 'left' (keeping the 'right' key held the whole time) causes my creature to judder back and forth rapidly more often than not.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

i don't think it matters honestly, i had a demigod who was killed in a ambush by a crossbow bolt to the head on the first move and i had a peasant with no legs take down a group of around 8 goblins by him self

This is DF.  The concept 'good idea' and the concept 'safe' do not belong together in the same sentence.

If anything, demigods die faster than the peasants.

Can't for the life of me imagine why.

Well that went better than expected.  He went nuts and punched a rabbit to death, then the dogs and the whole dining hall ripped him to shreds.

I always play demigod, and like others who state such, it's because I'm already too short on time and poorly-entertained to bother training up to the point where I can even get into the game and expect anything interesting to happen. And really, your life will always end quickly (maybe) and horrifically.

There is no doubt that demigods are over powered, right now I have a dwarf who is missing both legs, has a mangled left arm and an entourage of meat shields.
He just wont DIE!

Ouch. Demigods have it hard, in the long term.

On topic, I mostly play as a demigod when I'm not aiming to achieve a specific history in the legends. Training skills by throwing rocks takes too much time, and usually, time is a resource I don't have.

I play demigod. Not because of starting out easier, but because the inherit higher attributes gives you a much higher maximum level cap. This is far more important to me then, say, starting with easier skills. Hell, I sometimes play with no starting skills on demigod, but I cannot bring myself to lower the cap.

Sorry but even the "Maximum cap" has a cap irregardless of your starting attributes. Which disapointed me. I'd have thought Demigods would be able to push the boundaries of what is and isn't possible for a person.

Ultimately what I found with Demigods wasn't that they were better or worse then Heroic mortals with training. It is just the difference if you

A) Want to play now
or
B) Want to play later

There are less ways to train yourself up in this new release. Demigods skips over a lot of stupidity to get right to enjoying adventure mode.

Also even if it WAS cheating... so what? In what way is it good or bad that you cheat in your own game?

I think you'll find they can in a certain few of the skills. Sure they also have a cap but it is much higher than Johnny the peasant who started out with average in everything. When you start out as superior in strength, you can get it higher (through rote-training just like all the valiant pebble throwers and weasel wrestlers) than other people.

Cheese-raising stats and skills to legendary is cheating IMO.
I choose based on the character concept;
Peasant for average mortal,
Hero for someone chosen by destiny,
Demigod for someone with divine blood.

I personally can defeat squads of bandits with a peasant's starting gear and stats without too much difficulty.
My brother killed a dragon with a bronze scimitar as a peasant.

Cheese... raises stats and skills?

Cheese-raising... What exactly does that mean?

I am not sure EXACTLY how low an attribute can start as so that they cannot have the species cap out. But It think it actually could be average.

MIND you it would take forever.
