I'd assume Luna could be a forward base for Earth defenses. ;) Personally, I wouldn't allow anyone to colonize it besides Earth.

I always do that, gives TWO targets and two firing platforms rather than one. If the most sensors and guns are on luna, they'll fire at that while Earth stays safe for a few turns. Great decoy tactic, I'd say.

In other news, I'm waiting to create my own empire of aliens for you all to have fun with. :)

Well, that was my first plan, but I couldn't get beam weapons with enough range without giving the WC too much of a tech advantage.

It can change though, expect the WC to land PDCs there in a few years.

Can't wait. :)

Also updating my RP, Sheb. Thanks for watching! Turns will be rather boring for the first 10 or so, until we get the space station fully operational. Its mostly going to be me milking the confusion and chaos of a derelict ancient space station in human and alien hands. :P I'm still working on the artwork for the station, though I've got some finished like the AI Satellite. Also figured I'd do a top-down style for land maps, outposts and battles for the fun, ease and nostalgia of it all.

Anyway, back to Aurora.

CAN'T WAIT 'til you all get sufficiently far enough for me to break out the alien race I'm playing as. :P

Well, I am sorry, but as I am typing this first turn, I realize the daunting task of running this game. It'd means at least 3-4h of work a week, which is more than I can commit with my huge university schedule (I'm doing two majors) and other activities.

This is dead, sorry to all that participated.

Well, if you find a "light" way to play Aurora, I'd take it.

Yeah, I kinda figured maybe the scope of this had gotten too big to handle. No worries, Sheb. It was a fun thought experiment, and it gave me a few ideas of things to do in my own games.

I've been thinking of running a MP game myself. The gist would be that each player/team would start in a different system, all kinda scattered (no real stars on), and then in the mix of that I'd generate an uninhabited Sol, with major ruins on Earth. First team to find and fully excavate the ruins of ancient Earth wins.

Kinda torn on whether to make all the players humans on terraformed worlds (daughter colonies of Old Earth), or allow aliens into the mix.

For next game, it might be easier to play as one race divided among multiple players, as I understand the general idea so far was to play as multiple races.
