33g highly unstable on small maps

For some strange reason, 33g constantly corrupts all my 2x2 saves. None of them lasted longer then 3 years of ingame time and usualy crashed after the first time i close df [save game] -> [quit] on the title screen. This has never happened with any of my larger maps.

The crash occurs in 3 different ways:
1 DF freezes while loading and locks up my system.
2 .net runtime error, CTD and microshaft's standard "you fucked up" message
3 warning telling me that my saved game disk contains errors and that i should restore from a backup. CTD after that.

I've seen similar freezing issues, haven't paid attention to when, but it very well could be 3 years, however, saving and reopening "resets" that "three year timer" as far as I've noticed: I've got a 2x2 on year 6.

Is the freeze on load reproducible with that save?
