I often find myself, if I'm going to try to make a lasting fortress (not often) spending quite a while personalising my group and fortress name. So I thought it might be interesting to see what everyone else can come up with.

In my previous fort I actually had a goddess called "somethingsomething (not really) the emancipation of freedom". She was a goddess of liberty. Struck me as funny, but I forgot her first name.

I never change any names though. Don't even know how and don't think it's worth the effort anyhow.

You shoulda done an AMERICA and loyalty cascaded to simulate the revolutionary war. Bonus points if you only use marksdwarves

She was one of several gods. One of the others was of darkness and gambling so I should've named the fortress Las Vegas.

My fort name changes from fort to fort, based off of what I am trying to do with that fort.

However my group name has not changed,
"Boltarrow"
short and sweet, and also tells are enemys what weapons we use.

my current fort is called "metaloutpost" we send all the metal to the homeland

Hm... I've always thought it would be cool to call myself something from dwarf mythology, but I've never actually gotten around to doing it. Actually, in celebration of the upcoming completion of the inheritance cycle, I might name my fort in .26 (once it's released) Farthen Dûr.

I so would have named my fort Svartalfheim(or was it just Svartheim?) if the name generator allowed me.

I think the starting 7 are probably all hack romance novelists...

When I was testing world-gen and doing a lot of embark and abandon I got a name that would have forced me to play that fortress if not for the FPS of 3.
