This is awesome in multiple ways!

I have only one problem...how on earth do you use the tile editor?

Tigra, when you're in DF press k and select a tile. Then in DTIL open the tile editor, it's kind of confusing at first, but you can change the types of tiles, temperature, liquids, etc.

I would like to point out that this is not DF 3.0, but DF 0.3.

Still hoping for an update to 40d11/13 for this.

I'd help get the new memory locations, but I just need to know how to go about it.

This was one of the few utilities of its type that I could use at work. The others either wont work because my work computer doesn't have the requisite software (net framework, etc) or just wont run at all without admin rights.

I weep. This looks like a very nice utility... but...

I'm stuck on Linux, with a laptop that has trouble with native DF, much less running it through WINE.

Hopefully I can get things squared away and take a look at this, because it looks awesome.

How exactly do you use the vein helper?

It seems after awhile every button in Dtil seems to have a "completed" message whenever it's been completed.. but when I hit the transmute button I can sit around for awhile and notice nothing is happening. Am I missing something?

Vein Helper is a Reveal tool that only reveals veins.

I thought that function was covered with the "Reveal" tool? :P

Vein Helper is the one with the Ignore "struck" message button and a couple others I can't recall atm..

I figured out I could change sparser minerals like prase opals into most things on the list like dolomite and star sapphires but things like yellow sand (SAND_YELLOW?) and rough-hewn slate walls (SLATE?) are either not transmuting or my computer is just so slow that nothing happens in the 10 minutes I wait there?

That's an intrinsic problem with the DF internals.

Gems and veins can be changed to anything you like because they are specificed with a full matgloss/stone reference.

Rock layers (including yellow sand, basalt etc) are stored by an index into the rock layers available in the biome, so choice is restricted. In theory you could change it to any layer in 9 the surrounding biomes, but I don't think Dtil is that advanced. It probably does nothing in this case.

I can't seem to get this to work.  It just tells me it can't find Dwarf Fortress.

If your armor was 50% as good as two other civs and 30% as good as a third, do you really think you'd do well in war? That'd be like trying to engage a rocket-launcher mounted Humvee with a pistol riding a tricycle.

What version are you trying to use it with? It works fine with 40d but not with any of the 40d## variants.

I tested this on 40d, and it did not work, as it gave me the same error when trying it with 40d16, before locking up while trying to locate dwarf fortress.
