Macentis had closed to those damned supers. He was ready. With an assault rifle in his hand, combat armour covering him, and his strange supereffectiveness, haha, against supers, he'd make those damned fools pay for messing with the civilians. He noticed one of them had been using his powers to massacre them, and whatever his power was, it was a damned massacre to face him. But he'd do it. It was his duty...

Maybe someone would care about him after this kill.

Rick tapped his foot impatiently at he fired the bolts of nothing, not keen on waiting for Wei to talk to Justicar. Seeing a man with a rocket launcher advance towards him. He prepared to shoot the rocket as it launched, but was surprised to find himself hurtling through the air extremely fast, with many new bruises. He slammed into what felt like someone's head, badly bruising his back and tearing his coat. He reached into a pocket and injected himself with a needle, getting up and beginning to strafe Athaerion.
"Wei, now would be a good time to get going!" He yelled, trying to get him to hurry up.

Remembering what a real battle felt like invigorated Athaerion. Adrenaline was rushing through his veins, and all senses of pain were nulled.

"Perhaps you should have paid more attention to your enemies, Mister... Rick, was it?"

It felt strange to him, knowing the name of someone he doesn't know. However, because of that, he thought that his former self most certainly knew who Wei was in the past, although he doesn't remember anything else at that point.

"I won't make you escape. Not until you and Wei hand over the twins to me."

Athaerion had his premonitions correct after all. The battle and the combatants were much more related to his past than what he thought at first.

"So, hand me those twins or you'll be suffering a terrible fate, right here, right now!"

Enchanted weaponry didn't need to be reloaded, so he never moved his hand away from the LAW's trigger. Recalling some events, he wondered why he was able to launch the wind rocket in the first place, being someone who knows nothing of proper weapon handling. He chalked it up to his former self's muscle memory, and really now, he didn't need unwanted thoughts flitting around his mind.

He prepared his stance yet again to launch the rocket-shaped wind projectile, but he didn't pull the trigger yet.

Fuck it, he's coming with me if he likes it or not.

The tendrils of blood snagged Justicar and fastened his limbs together tight, lifting him off the ground and pulling him along behind him, like a ballon on a string. Pausing to pick up both twins and slinging them over both shoulders, fireman style, Wei pauses to turn to the 'audience' of fighting supers and gives a small salute with two fingers of one hand.

"Thanks for the good time!"

Stopping to sidestep a wild swipe made from a charging man with claws, followed by a lightening fast spinning heel kick to the head which sent him flying three meters away, Wei turns to the portal that was opened by Rick and hurls Justicar through first. Seeing that his acquaintance is in a bit of trouble, he sends a wave of blood at ankle height to swipe his feet from under him from behind.

"After you pretty boy. Come on Rick, let's go!"

Wei runs for the portal at max speed, blood pumping into his muscles providing him with extra speed to cover ground faster. With a final leap, he enters the portal and the swirling darkness beyond.

"Not so fast, idiots"

Athaerion was already confident that he would win the battle. He had a big gun, they didn't. He dashed towards Wei and pulled the trigger as he went.

...

...

The gun had dispersed upon pulling the trigger.

"Shit, not now! Damn it all!"

Athaerion had forgotten to consult the goddess of luck, if there ever was one. The big gun mounted on his shoulders, was gone, disappearing rather unspectacularly.

The M72 LAW also had it's defensive advantages, like being used to block incoming attacks from others and hitting other people's heads with it. But it was gone, and it'd take a minute to conjure the enchanted M72 LAW again, enough time for Wei and Rick to escape. Summoning an ordinary LAW was out of the question, since it needed rare, military-exclusive rockets to function. Guns work better with bullets, especially if you can't simultaneously make bullets and weapons.

His courage was decimated, and knowing full well he didn't have a chance against Wei without a weapon, he started running away from the scene, without saying anything.

Rick made his way into the worm hole, rubbing his neck. He turned towards Athaerion with a look of what seemed to be empathy.
"Powers can be a finicky thing sometimes, can't they? Don't worry, if the city needs to know about this threat, it will."
With that, he stepped into the wormhole as it closed.

He emerged in an abandoned warehouse, seeing Wei and the unconscious 'Girl'. Oh, and Justicar, he had forgotten about him.

Shade got up after getting hit by Rick when he was launched backwards. Now that Rick was gone he looked around. The Busters would have this place surrounded just in case a super decided it would be a good idea to run. He knew there was a shooter with a rocket launcher, but all he saw was someone running away, chances are that he was a super if he was only running now. He leaped into a shadowy wall teleported into the shadow of a rather large nearby tree, being careful to land on his feet.

"Busters have this place surrounded. If you want to get out easily jump into the portal, but you'd better hurry. It's hard to keep a portal like this open."

A swirling black pool formed in front of Shade, warping the image of the grass that should have been underneath. A faint image of poorly lit weapon storeroom could be seen.

While Athaerion was running away, he thought of going back, but he decided against it, as the busters were surrounding the vicinity. However, he couldn't run away completely from the scene either, because the busters had the whole perimiter under control. He was forced to hide in one of the mercilessly crumbled buildings, focused on creating a weapon that's formidable enough to last for a long time, while being useful all around, since powerful weapons tend to disappear much faster than ordinary ones.

Looking out, he saw a figure stand in front of a dark pool, seemingly preparing to jump.

Rubbing his head, Simon got up.
Ouch. That guy has a mean kick.

He decided quickly that waiting around for the busters would not be a good idea. Luckily for him, it seemed that someone had already opened up a portal nearby.

"Hey guys, mind if I come with you? I don't really want to have to explain things to the busters."
Without really waiting for an answer, Simon jumped into the portal, already concentrating on returning his body to a normal state.

Looking at the figure near the "black spot", Athaerion felt so compelled to go down there and meet him. He tried fighting the urge, for his safety, but the urge to know more about his old life overcame him and he decided to pop out.

"Since there's no way out of here, I might as well join you guys"

On hand was a single fire-enchanted P90, which was unreliable, as sometimes, it would shoot, and other times, it wouldn't. But he had no choice; he needed a weapon that could fire at a rapid rate, and if he could locate a bunch of 5.7x26mms to load on his weapon, the gun could fire bullets uninterrupted.

He approached Shade until he was close to him and the portal.

"So, are you ready, Mr.?"

Athaerion didn't know his name, nor did he notice him get blasted by his wind projectiles earlier. Bracing himself, he inhaled and exhaled at a steady pace, and prepared for what comes next.

Falling through the portal Simon feels a chill as the shadows envelop him. A dreaded silence filled with whispers can be heard echoing by his head. A moment later Simon emerges on the other side at the same speed that he entered the portal, this wouldn't be a problem normally, but he came out of a wall feet first. Looking around the room all he could see was wide expansive glass cases holding a large variety of weapons. The cases were lit with angled pot lights. The floor was barely visible, but what he did see was a polished black granite which gave the room a dull glow. The wall he fell through was unlit and far from any cases, the swirling black portal was opaque unlike when he first entered the portal.

A minute later Athaerion came out of the portal in the wall. Followed shortly after by Shade.

Shade looked around. "Not the room I was aiming for. Welcome to the storeroom. I'll get the door. If we're done here you can leave." He walked up to the door and punched in a rather long pin code. The door clicked and slid to the side revealing a room filled with wine bottles. "If you go up the stairs in the wine cellar, you'll find yourself behind the Land's Edge."

Rick took the time to send an email on his phone to James Kine and Dave Daurmin, explaining that he simply could not risk the information that the twins knew falling into the wrong hands and that he needed to closely study the mutations associated with the gas. He confirmed that he would share any information vital to the well being of the supers as a whole. He apologized for any damage his suppressing fire may have caused and that he was not actively aiming for anyone affiliated with the two separate factions. He also apologized to Dave about launching into his face.

((Totally OOC but need to get back in this after the last one went wrong... I am keeping the same character if thats ok with everyone else as not only did I get quite attached to him but its not as if I am going to roll a better power is it?))

Sgt. at Arms Karl Mason. Codename: "Carbine". Callsign: "B-8". Superpower: Gun Arm.

According to official records, little is known about Karl and his activites before the conflict, other than a service record showing what others wqould say is bravery, and others would say is a total lack of self preservation. Those with high enough security clearance know different: After serious wounding in an early 21st cent conflict, Karl was used as a testbed for advaned MMI technologies including neural grafting, cybernetic augmentation and powered armours. Most obviously was the rotary cannon where his left arm used to be. In the run up to the conflict Karl was used as a high value yet expendible deniable asset where plenty of force needed to be applied to a specific point. Consiracy theories place him at several major events in the history of the city of Kaleno, but grainy CCTV images of a cyborg are hardly convincing evidence of the existence of some kind of super soldier. During the conflict Karl continued to be operated in the shadows, being used where conventional force was innapropriate. The conflict left a heavy toll on Karl - wounded badly many times, each time being rebuilt by his operators using upgraded MMI and cybernetic technology - his body, suit, weapon and defensive systems represent the best infantry battlefield technology that there is. During the conflict Karl served no side other than the ones chosen by his operators at any particular time. He has killed supers and humans, combatants and innocents, and has come to treat death as of little consequence - either his own or that of others. Now more machine than man, Karl continues to be deployed by his operators where they feel some leverage is required. Karl holds a specific grudge at the operators of standard powered armour combat suits - seeing them as poor imitiations of himself. Whilst Karl is still nominally part of the military, he has no idea who directly controls him,  what motivates those that control him, nor what thier goals are.

((Soon as the possibility presents itself I will start shooting shit up again soon!))

"Wow, it would seem that someone invested a lot of their cash building this joint."

Athaerion remarked at the expensive objects within the storeroom. Surrounding him were a bunch of weapons, some ordinary, some military-grade, some historical, and some legendary.

"While your weapon's cache here is all cool and dandy, where do you keep the ammunition?"

Athaerion was interested in the items in the room, but he needed some reloads for his P90 so it would function properly. As he kept roaming the storeroom's perimiter, he found an ordinary SPAS-12 in one of the racks. The shotgun's bullets might not be effective at long range, but the gun could make a surprisingly good deterrent even when firing from the hip or blind-firing.

"Can I take this wonder of a weapon, the SPAS-12?"

He needed something he could use as a backup, and that something should be a weapon that doesn't require aiming.

"...Sure." he paused for a moment. "Just remember, if you aim it at one of us, I will kill you personally. The ammo is in a sliding tray under the weapon's case."

"As for the money that went into this place, the starter cash was from a bank robbery a long time ago, but the rest is from the Circle's operations. It's profitable, but I occasionally have to investigate mysteries that people call in."
