Haste and Shield Bash allow a warrior to attack three times in a turn. It's a fair bit of DPS with high-level Shield Bash.

I found an indestructible short sword of +5 to rodents. I shall call it "The Blessing of the Lowbie".

Seriously, it would be awesome for leveling a guy in the sewers.

DPS for a turn-based game?

It is just a term for damage in gaming. In this game it should be DPT (Damage per turn), but you get the idea.

The problem is that once you have something like that, it's sort of useless. You can level up low level guys better by sticking them in a garrison, rather than wasting turns in sewers.

I know what it was, I was being jokingly pedantic.

Yeah, but it's still a bit of a dumb thing for me to have said.

Also, I second leveling newbies in a garrison. A level two barracks is about half a level a day disregarding encounters.

Edit: Visiting Druiddrite. I am amused by the mayor's name.

My top level character is 11 and my party is 10.  I can build garrisons and structures.  Should I?  Or continue levelling to 15?

If you intend to train new party members after getting a town I say go to lvl 15. Then use the money and resources you'd use for the structures in your town for better markets and barracks. Plop your weaklings in there to fill out the garrison and accumulate xp. It is in some ways safer than a wilderness garrison but is far more dangerous when it's not.

Hm, have you considered murder?  It's either that or letting it go.

The Inn/Streets are to store characters. Inn costs money but is safe. Streets is free but they can get shivved by hobos.

Yeah, I see this happen occasionally now.  This might make having a shield more worthwhile.

Any benefits to this over having them in a garrison?

If they are carrying anything, while staying in a street, it can be stolen.

Raising Shield Bash does seem to offer tangible results. I'm getting bashes every four turns or so, and I expect that to increase as I put a few more points in. If it goes to bashing every other turn, it'll be fantastic.
