Okay, I'm ready to kickstart the kingdom any minute. Let's sort the preliminary details.

1) Capital City. The best options that I can pick are Felllack and Druiddrite. Felllack is closer to the map center, whereas Druiddrite is closer to the center of the cities we own. I'm favoring Druiddrite, but want opinions on this.

2) Kingdom name. Last time we were Mountainhome. Do we still want to go with that? Or some variant? I kind of like the idea of the Kingdom of Boatmurdered or something along those lines. Something idiosyncratic but still recognizably DF. ...what do others think? Is it too cheesy to borrow a name like Boatmurdered?

3) Name of King. This can be changed later so it's not so important as the first two. But let's get some suggestions. I named my mayors with a silly anime theme, but I don't want that for the king, so anyone got suggestions for the monarch's name in a bay12 theme? Maybe just King Urist or Urist XYZ in the dwarven language.

As for king names maybe we could pick some legendary figure from one of the entries in the Hall of Legends? Like Morul Cattenmat, Legendary Everything.

Hm, have you considered murder?  It's either that or letting it go.

The king's name can be changed later so it's not so critical. Druiddrite is probably the best choice for capital from what I can select too, so probably a no-brainer there.

So the important question for the people here is, what do you think about kingdom names? We could just reboot Mountainhome, but that kind of lacks a spark to me, since we already had that.

I'm not in favour of Mountainhome either. Maybe call it the Kingdom of Spearbreakers or something? It's less cliche than Boatmurdered, but still reasonably well known.

How about The Kingdom of Granitebeard? Something dwarfy sounding but original could be good. Or, Urist Granitebeard as the King, and we have some other kingdom name. I like the sound of Granite-something. Granitespire.

This isn't a serious suggestion: put a '-' in dwarfish for granite to get "The Kingdom of lol-ok"

Mountainhome, in addition to being a bit of an odd choice since it's already been used, would also likely paint a target on us since Mountainhome and Staberinde quickly became arch-enemies.

The King must be an elf named Cacame!

Anyway, for the name, I suppose we need something original, that can't be searched in google to find this thread. Granitebeards is nice, but maybe we can get something better than that. I'm out of ideas, though.

If we make up something truly original and say it in this thread, then that will be a problem. Using "boatmurdered" for example, wouldn't lead people to this thread.

Granitebeard(s) is also common enough not to direct traffic here from google.

Yeah, I also thought about Cacame, but i think a dwarf king will be better.

Druddite for capital - we want to be secure from Staberinde.

Yeah, Druiddite seems good. The godlike blacksmith also helps.

I set up a contest to decide the kingdom name. Get people to submit names. I will even buy the winner a $5.00 game on Steam or Gog.
