It...somehow doesn't display that ._. I did check this before you posted, and all I found was the tabs of 'Equipment' and 'History' (as well as no indication towards where I could find the stats).

Sorry if I missed anything though! :-\
Might be a connection problem. I frequently have to log off and back in to display parts of the page. The stat section and town page are the most frequent culprits. A refresh won't always do the trick but logging back in usually does.

Pretty much every time I have an interface problem I just reload and it goes away.

So, how does the new "gotta have 12 level 20 characters to be able to establish a kingdom" affect our timetable?

Rather poorly (as in extended) I imagine.
The fact that 1 person needs to be able to meet the requirements themselves is actually my biggest gripe with this game.

If the goal is to work together why can't a group of people add up to meet the mayor requirement? As it is the design takes oodles of grinding, turn-xp optimization, or time to form a kingdom. Kingdoms bring in dough and better infrastructure (kingdom board ho!) which newbies could really use to catch up with vets.

We also currently have the issue that Girlinhat is the designated monarch, but she somehow isn't gaining experience as fast as a lot of us, which means we probably need to at least run over the current plan again.

Edit: There's a bug with garrisons where you can get an extra character into your party. Huh.

Edit again: Seems to be a very strange interface bug. Weird.

Many edits: I have fortified both my garrisons, and they are equipped with barracks. Hopefully I will continue to be of use to the kingdom despite my lack of time.

So, how does the new "gotta have 12 level 20 characters to be able to establish a kingdom" affect our timetable?

The XP requirements for levels around ~20 or so were dropped. All my level > 15 characters leveled up once per fight, for a few fights in a row, I went from 5 x level 20's to 9, in a few minutes (and my level 20's hit level 22 after 2 battles). High-level chars will level up automatically, as their XP is now valid for several levels higher, but you need a fight or something to trigger the level up check.

So it actually speeds up the grinding a fair bit for new kingdoms. The number of level 20's needed for 4 mayors is the same as before, but it's significantly faster to get level 20 characters now.

What's the easiest way to manage the equipment degradation in garrisons? Is there an automatic way to do it? Also, where's the construction tab?

Level 15 is the point where we can create babby create new characters from the abyss of characters at a recruitment office, right?

manage equipment degradation by investing in cheap indestructible weapons, good helms and shields since they don't break. you could also upgrade cheaper indestructible armor to be reasonable.

the construction tab appears next to the create/manage garrison button. Once you have a tower built, then it switches to a link labeled "manage" when you're on top of the site. you can only do that when your party is there.

Yeah but it's expensive, 15000gp and 50 turns to make a babby. My advice is hold off on the custom new chars until you have a castle with high-level barracks, then you can stick them in there to gain passive levels. Putting a level 1 guy in your party will slow you down since they can't survive hits. Maybe as a rule of thumb, you don't want to swap in new guys who are more than 10 levels below your main characters, or below ~ level 3.

So, playing with a level 2 party. Two dwarf warriors and three archers (two elves and a human), and they do pretty phenomenally against anything the world is throwing at them, whether it be hobgoblins, hordes of orcs, or silly dark elves.

I know I've got a bit of ways to go, but when should I be garrisoning my first party?

EDIT: just looking at the 'game stats' and thinking a bit about this game, I'm really surprised it's not more popular. It deserves more attention no?

At level six, when you get the ability to place garrisons. Garrison overnight so you can keep fighting, and play during the day. I invested in another set of characters so I could keep the garrison full during the day, too.

BTW Smoketown (87,97) has rebeled against StormTroopers, someone should consider taking over the southern city area.

~~~
You can only position a garrison when your party is level 6. It costs 15 turns to place. you can either make this temporary or keep it going, in which case you need a 2nd team to man it while you're away (you always need to keep 1 character in your party, too). A full party of 8 level 6+ guys in a garrison should have pretty good survivability. Worst case, they flee something big, and you have to ressurect 1-2 chars. But that normally only happens to me when I fill a garrison with only level 1&2 chars - you need a level 6 party to place garrisons, but can fill it with level 1s afterwards.
You probably want to look for priests so you can take it to the next level. Without portable healing spells you won't survive dungeons.
I admit I'm kinda take this on 'the slow route' and playing every other day, especially now that turns stack.  If something is going on I'll hop on, but I'll let turns stockpile and then spend them in bursts.  Especially as exp levels are changing, I ought to get much higher level quickly.
Two now.  But after today I should have a few more and start training up a new set, which should go swimmingly quickly when I toss them down level 3/4 dungeons.
