odd...I killed the mayor and it didn't let me install a new one, no real option that I could see. As soon as I left there was a new npc mayor there.

Instead of a garrison I now camp my main party down in a big room in a level 3 dungeon. It's been good for XP, a single fight defensive fight there nets me 500-1200xp so far.

Only do this if you can wipe out the biggest stack in that type of dungeon without raising a sweat. It's probably worth considering for level 2-3 dungeons only. Level 1 dungeons aren't any better than random wandering mobs on the map, and level 4 dungeons are too dangerous.

Strange bug :-\
I try to create an 8-man garrison, and I can't--it always shifts a random person back onto my party for some reason. Then it becomes a 7-man garrison. :'(

Yeah, you have to have a party still. So one guy must stay behind.

Err...
My party has 8 people.
The garrison has 7.
I move one over and it refuses to move her over by returning one dude back to me--or even two! And yes, it moves two people away (making the garrison become six people)...And it still occurs until now. :-\

I should've detailed this earlier. >_<

Did you defeat the mayor and then leave by the exit, or did you portal out?  You have to leave by the stairs.  As well as have your party level at 15 on the status bar.

Anyone can be, but the party should be level 15.  My mayor was like 9 at the time, I believe.

A page refresh normally sorts out that sort of issue for me.

Do all of you have 8 person garrisons?

Yeah, sometimes though when I swap over the last character in my party with a garrison peron it spits out and error "you have to keep one person in your party", so it's buggy and that's when I have to hit refresh. I don't know if the two rows make any difference.

Great, so its somehow just me. :-\
And by 'refuse to move over', it replaces my shifter with any random person of the garrison. Argh. Obvious bug.

Edit: Fixed when I decreased my party size to 7 in total. Yay Ashford Inn!

Note, you can mark where you garrison is on the bay12 map which will help ensure other people don't put another garrison too close (which would cut into your XP gain). i marked good spots for garrisons in blue (minimal garrisons to grab the most land), but a finer grid halfway between those would be good too.

Does this account for every other person present? Because there are non-B12 garrisons markedly near some of the blue tents you marked (also thanks for that--I didn't know what those meant)

You can stick those on the map too, if you find them, as "enemy camp". obviously only bay12ers who check the map will know where your stuff is, but if everyone tags things they find on the map and sticks notes in the map cells for interesting stuff, it will help all of us.

EDIT: Actually, it doesn't really matter if we get all the blue spots, those are guidelines to get the most land with the least garrisons, we can build around them in cases where there's a city or other structure., but it will definitely need more total garrisons then.
