The location of your party seems to be on  the open map, not just the password protected map - is that intended?

Fair enough.
I dont think Staberinde will go out its way to stomp anyone. They are probably keen for the new players to get the game going for now. But its quite dangerous info to display imo.

I keep meaning to post some questions on the forum there to ask Mutant to clear some things up. But digging through the old posts it seems once upon a time death in the wild was permanent. Then it got changed to a chance to lose some characters rather then all, but no reference of how much/likely. This doesnt apply to garrisons which are safe as long as they die there - if they flee then die in the wild they could die also. Worth keeping in mind if your going to display your location openly. (could all be very out of date info.)

It somes great work you have done there btw  :)

When garrisons flee, they make a new garrison in the next square over. But if people die in your party, I've never seen them die permanently. I imagine you'd have to have your whole party wiped out.

If you want to talk to Mutant it's probably easier just to send an in-game message to the Born Again party, which is his.

"You can garrison in the wilderness at level 6. This allows you to get hit points and gold without spending turns. If your garrison is damaged and caused to flee, you lose any gold gained. If your garrison is destroyed in the wilderness, then it cannot be revived. A town garrison can be resurrected."

Thats from the forum over there but its 2011 so probably very old news, but enough to make me worry.
Looks like I misunderstood it with my first post with your info, sorry. I read that info as: first they flee you lose gold, then they are in the wild and die if destroyed.

----------

From a change log snippet 2012. Cant see any other info after that about death but Ive only skimmed it since.

"Parties wiped out during combat will no longer be deleted. Instead, the party will be returned to a nearby town, and may lose some characters permanently."

That at least was true, I found quite a few communal graves of people's garrison. I've hear a rumor (in this thread) that wiped garrison will slowly die off, reaching 100% non-revivability in 2 weeks. (actually  Girlinhat said it "moved them to the morgue", no idea if that means perma-death or free revive)

Since people are concerned about potential leaks I decided to just require the password for accessing the map at all. Once I do the database version there will be personal accounts with passwords. So, any volunteers to try the browser plug-in? I linked it in my .sig for easy access.

I would, but I don't have my computer at the moment. Today's been something of a write-off.

To that person I would say:
Only play via Tor, in the dark, with the curtains shut, and the music up loud just in case... works well for me.  :o

The character list for my wiped garrison states the characters are in a city, and I assume I can go revive them, I just haven't bothered.  They're still listed as my characters, just dead.

Yea, it means they are on layaway over at the cemetery of the city.  The shelf life their is astounding.  You can ask some of my hired help... most of them have literally been stuck in purgatory, awaiting revival or to finally be sent off to the afterlife... for 2-3 years.

So your script seems to silently crash when it tries to get coords out of the location string. I'm guessing it worked for you, so it's probably something to do with culture. More details soon.
huh. location is null. What is it that the line
/Location<\/span>\: \d\d, \d\d/.exec(status.innerHTML);
is supposed to do?
ah, I see- it's a regEx (though why it's before the string I can not grasp.) My location is actually not matched by it on account of the X coordinate being single digit.
replacing \d\d with \d* in both places (the other being location[0].match(/ \d*/g);) has fixed the issue.

With prosperity up to 23, Ashford may be considered "legally a town" now!  Rejoice!

Its only a matter of time before you can upgrade the wooden throne and throw out that Christmas cracker crown for the real deal.

--------------

Im totally burnt out of turns today.
I had this double quest for a Lv1 dungeon, which is a bit low for me now but I thought what the hell its XP and steady going, so off I go. 3 Floors later Im totally burnt out of turns, equipment worn out, and still not even found one of the quest items...  This place is huge. Every other dungeon has been small time compared to this place.
