I'm getting kinda bored with the game. It's just a bit too grindy for my tastes.

I was hoping there would be a bit more strategic depth to the kingdom thing, like some kind of resource management, but there isn't yet much to that. Kingdom building is basically just grinding out powerful characters in the adventurer part of the game and putting them in cities to protect them, since the veteran guards are a joke. All having cities does is give you a gold income, which pales in comparison to just raiding a dungeon. And theres only so many times you can raid dungeon XYZ for potions and levels before it starts getting tiresome. If you could save up money and hire competitive characters (as in mages that haven't focused all their stat points on divinity and strength, or archers who actually have agility among their top 3 stats) I'd probably find the game more entertaining, but having to seek out decent statted level 1 guys (which are also rare) and spend ages training them up and grinding out potions for them is too tedious.

Yeah, it's fun for a bit but then this.

I'll check back later in a few weeks/months/whenever I remember.

It's got potential.

Yeah, it started a couple of days ago. The Bay12 kingdoms pissed off Time. Now, Time has decided to wipe you guys out. I started raiding Mountainhome yesterday. And I took half of their towns, including their capital. Mountainhome, like Oddity, won't last much longer.

Color me completely unsurprised by this turn of events. With Time as the biggest kingdom, of course we were going to end up making them enemies at some point, especially with all the grand plans of washing the map with dwarvern kingdoms, etc.

I've already fallen out of playing - I might pick it up again sometime later, but right now I experienced what the game has to offer, and didn't feel like grinding for things like indestructible *insert the name* for everyone.

Well here I have been trying to get a village, waiting for the bloody elections to come around. And TIME comes in and swamps one of the three I was after, luckly they put an election on. Currently have my Warrior sitting there with 2000g behind her... Winning in the polls so far...

Eh. It's massively depressing how they can just waltz in and take the capital. I attempted taking the city just north of it, but a veteran guard told me "No, go out and grind more."

Like I said on the chat, its not even as if Dr.Feelgoods party is particularily powerful, the mechanics are just so skewed that you can't protect towns in any meaningful way. Maybe if you had one prosperity 100 town and invested all your money from adventuring into funding additional veterans, you might stand a chance at defending it, but I wouldn't count on it  ::)
Still, Mountainhome persists, we don't need no stinkin' towns :D

go mercenary.
no allegiance. conquer towns and give them away. weaken the big block.
remember a town give 5% income to the kingdom it belongs to.
so, any town remove guards, get the income for one day to a kingdom. call them money bank, conquer them again before night. everything is fine

Moved to new post:

The Kingdom of Dvergar (dorfs) has finally been established:

http://forum.kingdoms-game.com/index.php?topic=166.0

Anyone is welcomed to join. My kingdom values fighting, illicit ale, and conquest. :) Dvergar is neutral to the other dwarven nations, since I'm not getting paid to raid your towns anymore.

I suppose we should have more of a show of being upset and weakened by your efforts, so you could have stayed on Times payroll a bit longer :)

It's not real drama though since we both think it's fun. Besides, we've decided not to attack each other any more and start raiding the other established kingdoms instead. I guess we just need to figure a division of the towns we're fighting over now

So, looks like the mercurial Bay12 lost interest ;)

Can you guys do me a favour and anyone that's a member of Mountainhome, and not playing anymore, log in and leave the kingdom?
That way it's a lot easier for me to tell what I actually have to work with.
