Election in dour cities, and two dwarf players are competing.

If anyone who win's makes it a dictatorship, I hope revolts mean your guards and mayor die.

Dour Cities? Thats the one I was running for. Was only me and NPCs for awhile there.  Guess someone else entered the race.

It felt a bit like a movie in which two stoners try to steal a military helicopter

Next to their portrait, where the attack/defense/magic icons are there should be a hand icon. You can drink them from there.

The Treehugging Bonanza is made up of elven archers only.
They're lvl7 and pretty much killing everytihing they've encountered so far, bow or no bow.

Elves make the best archers, Dwarves make the best Warriors. Who'da thunkitt?

Actually, I couldn't notice any difference in combat performance of my archer-only party after they ran out of ammo and switched to melee weapons.

On new features: please don't get too excited... there's a lot planned, but it takes me a long time to develop new things (especially big features). Mostly because I just don't get enough development time....

On grinding/lack of turns: if you play the game as a traditional RPG, it can be a bit boring, and you can burn through turns... if you make use of other aspects of the game, those are not such a big problem... one issue with the game is getting people out of the habit of playing it as a traditional RPG, since it can look like that on the surface.... new features will help this a bit, but like I say, it's going to take a while....

Edit: also, combat is only "clicking a button" if you want it to be... if you plan combat wisely, you'll be much more successful, and burn a lot less turns doing it.

Anyway, glad a lot of you are still enjoying it :)

(And yes, I do read this thread occasionally...)

I'm sorry to hear that.. I think though, that even when I get tired of this game as it is now, I'll return later to check it out again. Kinda like with M&B. You'd enjoy it, play yourself full, and then return a few updates later and enjoy it again.

You mean, at times, it's pressing two buttons? :P
I'm not sure I get the combat, though. I suppose it's mainly the heavy abstraction that I don't like.

I don't mind the limited turns very much, at least since I grew the habit of playing it at one time and letting the turns grow back rather than continually throughout the day (that was very aggravating ;)).

I also think I might not be of your main target group anyway. I'm not much of a multiplayer gamer to begin with, and I get a bit stressed out just by the thought of the competitive gameplay.

edit: got the wrong tags by mistake.

Also, I just reached party level 8! Now to steal towns from the rest of my dwarven compatriots!
Well, I almost did, anyway. Fortunately, I decided to check here first, just in case.

Maaan... I was trying to do Lichcity quests and you beat me to them Mr. Crimson Sickle. Oh well, time to go train up some new recruits!

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

Sorry about that, pretty much all the surrounding cities are also mine and would love for you to do quests for them. How do you like the entrance fees on the towns?

Also, I've been thinking about the kingdom name and I'm not sure Twelve Bays is that suitable. It's not exceedingly important to me but I've been thinking if maybe we'd want to go with Mountainhome instead?

Edit: Madel, which is the northwestern kingdom, is an NPC kingdom. This means that the entire northwest is pretty much free for the taking! It is also worth noting that once a kingdom is established, towns need to be connected through claimed land or run a serious risk of uprisings.

And another town listing update:

Koganusan is Boatmurded in Dwarf. I think that is acceptable.

I am working on the North West at the moment, currently doing quests around three high Prosperity towns so that when I can I will be applying for Mayorship and buy the Towns outright. ^_^
Also thinking that we should really try and do that World Ring Kingdom thing, it should keep those inside the middle under control as we crunch in on them from all sides...
