Camped in Lichcity now until I get more turns. Only level 3 but i'll just stick around  the area fighting monsters to increase prosperity.

What steps are needed to create a kingdom proper?

Remember that Runlevy is not far to the south and Cherrygain almost directly east. Cherrygain is a bit bigger, but hasn't got a blacksmith right now unfortunately.

So far as I understand, the only things needed to establish a kingdom is 8 cities under a level 16 players control.
Also, there's a level 1 dungeon at [11,17], thats pretty close to the NW. At level 3 you should be able to explore that a bit, if you have decent equipment and remember to be careful

God damn. >_> Tried a Prosper 20 town and it was chock FULL of veteran guards, had to flee. :(

Taking Time's town is going to be tough, with all these damn guards...

..You attacked Time? Do be careful for they will hunt you down :P.

Speaking of which, if there's no direct party-attacking-party going on, how do you stop them from just retaking every town you take? :|

The whole turn-limitting-gameplay is beginning to bum me out... I wait an hour for literally 60-80 seconds of gameplay. :(
Me too. I play in two bouts instead of just a minute every hour. Gives me time enough to actually enjoy the game a little.

Though I'm starting to get bored with it anyway. Too much grinding, too little to do. Especially since combat is mostly just pressing a button over and over.

I think grinding the sewers is the best XP/loot for parties Level 4-5 and lower.

Remember, game's still in its alpha stages. Not much to do, yet. Plenty of nice features on the way, though. :D

Coolio, ah ok thanks, as soon as I have some more turns I'll get to the dungeon.

Also won't we need to be careful because of madel and staberinde's proximity? Might they not attack us?

Nice features, yes, but once you've done them once, you've done them. Next feature please, situation. :|

It's like playing DF with the same world and no modding. Minus lava. Sadly.

Madel is weak, only 9 players in the entire Kingdom.

Staberinde's leader is afk for the rest of the month and they have few players too, so its not a problem. They're too busy fighting off Time to care about us. ;)

Just make sure, if you take a town, to HIRE AS MANY/GOOD GUARDS AS POSSIBLE!

Don't be a cheap-ass, or you'll lose your town.

ALSO, we all need to make sure to visit each other's towns, buy junk, sell junk, and do quests, because all that makes prosperity rise :)

Seconded. I've talked to Mutant a couple of times about features I thought might be interesting and he's pretty much already planned all of them. Inter-kingdom politics, religion, guilds, more types of buildings, resource gathering and infrastructure development, sounds like there's a whole of things on the drawing board.
For a game that's still technically in alpha stage of development, this is pretty good and I'm certainly looking forward to seeing it developing even further. That being said, I'm sure the nature of the game isn't for everyone.

Only 9? Surely we could beat them with enough planning.

Also quick question what are potions of Diffusion used for? Im tempted to sell mine as its worth over 600 gold.

Hiring guards. You guys are having a hell of a time handling a few Veteran Guards, imagine an iron wall made out of 'em.

Though once someone can handle Veteran Guards, the world falls to them...

1. Take over prosperity 3 town.
2. Raise prosperity to over 9000.
3. Buy a shit load of vets.
4. Time walks in, removes the guards, induces so much money into the town that it goes into a coma, puts even more Vets in, and places some of their best characters in it for good measure.
5. Cry.

How exactly can I raise the Movement Factor of my adventurers?
Constitution, constitution and constitution. Only these three. And magic items that give you movement factor (or constitution). Encumbrance will lower your movement rate - strength only raises the encumbrance allowance, and does not raise your potential movement factor. Constitution does both, this is why it is the best of all stats. Don't be swayed by the agility heretics!

I think grinding the sewers is the best XP/loot for parties Level 4-5 and lower.
Depends on the sewers. My sewers were awful (as I discovered later), with one solitary chest. I only started having fun with the game when I started exploring after reaching exp level 2 - though I nearly got killed to begin with, maybe leave dungeons till you have an average defence factor of around 25 or higher.
