My party, the Odysseus:

Karulf Grayspike, warrior (Original member)
   Favored weapon: Hand axe
One of the two founding members of Odysseus, Karulf set forth from the mountain homes with Gegan Gemforger with the intent of spreading Armok’s influence over the many realms. This being Armok, said influence often takes the form of butchering monsters in the wilds, but that’s just fine by Karulf. He is a blunt, straightforward dwarf who doesn’t take crap from anyone. Some might belittle his weapon of choice, a rather small hand axe, but they never do so more than once within Karulf’s hearing. As an aside, Karulf has a soft spot for gems and gold, and likes to collect them when he can.

Faern Ironspear, warrior (Original member)
   Favored weapon: Flail
Faern is a devout follower of Armok who joined out of the desire for battle. She is possessed with a fiery temperament and even more fiery temper. She doesn’t hesitate to let any fool know exactly what she thinks of their nonsense, often eschewing speech in favor of a mean left hook. On the other hand, her sense of loyalty and devotion are absolute, often leading her to take the lead in battle and suffer the brunt of the enemy's attacks herself, saving her teammates from harm. This rarely slow her down though, as in a battle, she attacks with a maniacal fervor, laughing in the faces of her doomed opponents. She detests idleness and waiting though, and has a tendency to pace.

Vladik the Lizard, warrior
   Favored weapon: Bastard Sword
The newest member of Odysseus, and the only non-dwarf. Vladik is an elf from the desert realms, where elves are less into tree hugging and more into wrestling survival from the jaws of a brutal environment. Traveling to the forests, he soon grew disgusted with the pettiness and hypocrisy of the forest elves, and sought a different culture to follow. He heard Gegan preaching once, and decided to give Armok a try. He requested to join the group, and on Gegan’s word, was accepted. Vladik tends to be the strong silent type, never using two words when one will do, and never using one when none will do. He doesn’t talk on why he left the deserts, but there are rumors that a murder is involved.

Cael Shaledigger, archer (Original Member)
   Favored weapon: Crossbow
When Gegan and Karulf announced that they were forming their group to travel the lands, Cael was assigned to travel with them. She is professional and calm, possessing a keen head for tactics, often advising the rest of the group just before battles. She doesn’t say much, but it is believed she is a veteran of the Orc and Dwarf wars, and has seen a lot of bloodshed already. It is an open secret that this will be her last assignment before she settles down for a more peaceful life. Additionally, she has a soft spot for children, and enjoys their company. Threatening or harming one in her sight is a good way to get a bolt through the skull. Or rather, several dozen.

Remi Readimover, archer
   Favored weapon: Crossbow
Remi is a relatively new member to Odysseus, but a valued one nonetheless. Contrasting to most of the party, Remi is a jolly fellow who enjoys his drink and food. He claims that he joined up simply for the opportunity to travel the world and sample the various beers, ales, whiskeys, meads, and wines from all the different nations. Nonetheless, he is a good shot with his crossbow, often hunting for the group when they camp in the wilds. Additionally, he is quite the chef, able to make surprisingly good meals with just the campfire and his small selection of herbs. He is good friends with Cael, often getting into friendly drinking contests or crossbow competitions with her.

Gegan Gemforger, priest (Original member)
   Favored weapon: Halberd
One of the two founding members of Odysseus, along with Karulf Grayspike. The two have been comrades for a long time, and when Karulf decided to set forth, Gegan grabbed his holy books and followed. He tends to be the voice of calm and reason in the Odysseus, and given his stature of a priest of Armok, the party usually listens to him. When in towns, he preaches of the glory and strength of Armok, to any who will listen. In battle, he wields his halberd with deadly skill, and sings hymns to Armok during the fighting.

Jalain Firehammer, mage (Original Member)
   Favored weapon: Flail Everyone else.
Jalain is a scholar and scribe, the most intelligent and knowledgeable of the group. He isn’t a warrior, but came along as a historian to record the efforts and stories of the Odysseus. Being fluent in many different dwarvish, elfish, and human tongues, he often is the spokesperson for the group, dealing with officials and bartering with shopkeepers. He can come off as arrogant and a little cowardly at times, though, and is a poor fighter for a dwarf. Indeed, he often simply focuses on protecting himself in a fight, letting others do the killing for him. When he does fight, though, he often summons ethereal forces to strike at foes with fire and light. It is said he has studied elfish forms of magic, and has more than once commanded the plants to entangle enemies. It’s telling that he often holds long conversations with Vladik. Despite his oddities though, he is loyal to the group, and to Armok.

I had to visit 3 different sages before I got one who could find a dungeon for me. Alternately, you can get quests that involve raiding dungeons and that should give you a dungeon location as well, but those are supposedly a lot more difficult. Which town are you in now?

Concerning weight and movement, Strength determines your maximum encumberance and Constitution determines your movement factor, so the key to a good movement factor is high strength and constitution and a low load.

Also, for anyone who has input on the game, Mutant (the developer) seems to log onto the chat on a daily basis if anyone wants to talk to him or has any suggestions. He seems pretty friendly and open to suggestions :)

Edit: Just headed a bit west, to Juniperfort. I'm a bit closer to our intended destination and closer to the dungeon at 48,25 as well.
Also, if anyone needs some destinations here's a listing of the towns I've visited so far:

Town Name  / Prosperity / Coordinates / Mayor / Kingdom
Deafpall       / 94 / (54, 10) / ? / Staberinde
Flourlake      / 28 / (61, 2)  / NPC / Staberinde
Juniperfort   / 68 / (41, 26) / Count Brass / Staberinde
Oxness        / 83 / (54, 16) / ? / Staberinde
Slate Port    / 78 / (60, 9)  / ? / ?
Stagdell       /88  / (54, 37) / ? / Free City
Threetroll     /59  / (47, 33) / Snorri / Staberinde
Upperbit       /58 / (67, 2) / ? / ?
Valiantsand  /81 / (54, 22) / ? / Staberinde

I am in Smiterow currently.

Hmm, it'll take me ages to ever reach you all. :P I'm in the absolute northeastern corner, in neutral lands.

I've been leaving this message at every town I travel to... :P

"Soon, the Kingdom of The Twelve Bays, Fortress of Dwarves, shall rise!"

Mages/priests need to be wearing splint mail or better as soon as you can afford it. My plan is to first raise constitution to about 20 or so for more hp/level and carrying capacity so everyone can wear full plate (will worry about movement factor later). I've actually put my casters in the front rank with the heaviest armour and decent melee weapons, as it seems to be the best way to level them up - it's also the last thing the monsters are expecting..

I had an excellent session yesterday after a wobbly start. There were a total of 4 characters to resurrect from the first few encounters (costing 700 gold), each time from trying to fight unfamiliar monsters (hobgoblins are nastier than they look). After an extended wilderness trek I discovered six new towns (highest prosperity: 82). Overall I advanced the party from level 2 to 4 and increased membership to the maximum of eight - I also have a couple of priests sequestered away as backup healers. I noticed that each round of combat costs you a turn, so filling up your party to increase damage output and end battles sooner may be optimal - at least when starting out at the game.

I'm really liking the daily reports I get emailed, here's what I got up to yesterday:

Heh, I've started leaving this one. Hey, if you can't take 'em by force, you can possibly recruit them. ;)

"Indeed, shall the Kingdom of Dwarves arise, deep in the southern reaches of this world. Already are there dozens of our kind, bloodthirsty Dwarves, followers of the Blood God Armok, assembling across these vast lands. Soon, our kingdom shall rise, and we shall bathe in the blood of thousands. Preferably, while setting fire to forests with rivers of lava. Mmm. Sigh Mages...
Autocast, brilliant thing. Don't forget to set it higher and check them else they won't cast the spells. But it saves you alot of time with casting spells. Still...

Combat toggles...
The different toggles are just the actions they will take, the swords means they will attack, the shield JUST defend and the want naturally casts spells oh and the hand use an item like a health potion. Seems that no matter what my mage just attracts damage...

Gah MAGES!!!
I was out of battle but it seems that my Mage got poisoned for next thing I know he was fucking dead WTF!!! Looks like I am going to need to rebuild the priests spell listing so I can cast Shield more. If the UI works properly...

I've been finding random potions in sewer chests. Are these permanant stat boosts or some kind of buff?

EDIT: Seriously the smiterow sewers are packed with chests. Stop by them if you happen to find smiterow.

Yeah, smiterow has a lot of loot in the sewers. I'm currently at archersguard, which is close by.

I think I started in archersguard. No chests in the sewers there, if you're after them. I saw your Blood and Ale thing in Smiterow though. :P

I also don't know how to use potions.

Probably temporary boosts.

On other news, I found a Tower claimed by the Freedom to Buzz Party. o_O

ALSO, I just claimed a sector for the Staberinde Kingdom to whom I swore my fealty to in a fit of spontaneous randomness. Huh. I guess that's how we get land. :)

By the way, do chest's loot respawn? I found two empty chests in the Jewel Cities sewer, a 50-Prosper city near my original spawn.

YES!

I might draw a dwarf face on the map using the reds colors. HAHAHA.

I'm at that independent red square thing at the top right, to the right of the red mass and right above the dark blue river-like line.
