Tuonela doesn't seem to exist any more, though.

From the Kingdoms history page:

Tuonela: 1094-1498

Mountainhome:1111-1193

So Tuonela obviously survived Mountainhome for a fair bit. Like 400 days of existence total, compared to our 82.

Would've loved to kept playing with you guys, but the only dungeon I can find are the sewer ones, everytime I ask a Sage for a dungeon, Nothing happens  :P
Hey, we can help you out if you need it.  The game has some new-player issues that aren't super intuitive, mainly "where do I start?" is trickier than it should be.  But the basic effect is sewers to get to level 2-3, upgrade your gear some, then start taking quests for "kill 3 creatures" and such, and as you level up off that you'll begin to get "retrieve artifact from dungeon" quests which are the BIG moneymakers.

Anyway, improved my map, though it lacks city info for up north (will fill it in as I go). Now you can hover over a city and it'll tell you the prosperity and blacksmith (though I haven't got blacksmith details for many cities). You can really quickly identify free cities with this map girlinhat, and since it takes the color data straight from the game, that is guaranteed to be up to date. Just zoom as far out as you can and hover the mouse to get city details.

Deathable looks like the one you want girlinhat, prosperity 79.

How do you zoom?  And how might I get the code for this?  I may want to host this privately for myself as well.

A suggestion too, make the city icons into some type of large circle, so they're very visible.  The city icon can afford to be a 3x3 because nothing else will exist close to a city.

Well it's just a webpage so you hold down ctrl and either use the mousewheel or hit the minus sign. The code uses php to generate the page so you'd have to install WAMP or LAMP server package if you want to run this on your home PC as it is. That's not too hard. This is just a really quick and dirty map solution though, so don't expect too much from it. But the advantage of having this online is that the map colors are always updated automatically.

Making the icons bigger than the table cells would actually be a pain to code (it would fuck up the cell sizes, html is very finicky). And it would also remove the ability to see who owns a city (notice there are some cities with a white cell surrounded by a colored area - they're not actually owned by a country, but they've claimed land around it to make it look like they claimed it). So, having the city icons smaller than the cells was a deliberate design decision, so that you can ascertain ownership at a glance.

Anything I ought to know about orbs before I foolish attempt to destroy one? The quest is marked as level three, so it should be within the realm of possibility. If it's not, I've got seven days and can level up quite a lot in that time.

Interesting... really neat map.  I shall use it to my full advantage!

They can be hard to find, is the biggest problem.  You get a direction, but no concrete location, and can result in a lot of time wandering around aimlessly.

I look forward to squandering my turns. Thanks!

Do the "kill 2-4 monsters" ones instead, then switch to dungeon raid quests. The orbs are a pain and the rewards aren't any better than the kill random monster quests. keep a few of each gem to exploit the gem quests when you see them - you don't have to look for a gem afterwards.

The orb quests suck because you never know where it is. The one time I was foolish enough to do one, I was looking for the Orb of Egouag or something. I wandered around the area it was supposed to be and after ages, I found an orb I thought was it, destroyed it, and returned, but it was spelt a bit differently. Never did find the Orb of Egouag.

I've been killing monsters in large quantities for quests, and being diappointed by the rewards. I guess I'll try for the orb and then find somewhere willing to give me dungeon crawls. There's a town in the direction I'm looking for the orb in, which is convenient.

For reference, higher prosperity NPC controlled towns tend to have higher grade defenses, especially if given a few days to establish themselves.

Player controlled towns are more of a crapshoot...  Taking control of a town, by force will leave its defenses in shambles, depending on how much damage you do.  Elections happen over a few days.
Either case, bare minimum of 500k in your warchest when you begin.  Setting up a town can be expensive and the prime danger to your rule/investment are older/stronger players...

If you do choose conquest, do a trial run first.  Hit up a NPC controlled town that has not had a leadership change in the last few days.

Guess I got lucky, then. I went off in a more-or-less straight line and ran across three monsters guarding the orb I wanted, and then destroyed it.

...the prime danger to your rule/investment are older/stronger players...

And Zar-Hix (The Kronk S Schnorrbart party or whatever they're called) who is/was the man behind Staberinde and one of our main opponents during the Mountainhome thing, is still active so one has to consider that one is potentially fighting a hegemonic domination that has lasted for around 1200 real life days if trying to compete with older, stronger players.

Yeah I had gotten my characters to level 9 or something, all eight of my warriors, and then I couldn't find any dungeons to find any enchanted loot (any other way to get enchanted ones? Or high ammount of money except questing?) but I couldn't find ANY sort of dungeon by randomly asking a Sage because if I clicked anything relating to finding a Dungeon, nothing happened, just redundant clicking. But then I ragequit and deleted my account >:(
