I'll probably establish my kingdom in the next few days, if everything goes well. I think I'll call it Dvergar. All I need to do is reclaim the towns taken from me by you guys. :P

So, I attacked the Town of Paleral, under rule of the Kingdom of Time. Prosperity, 48.

I went in. I killed a Mage. I fought through Veteran Guards, at level 7, and got out with two guys left alive, of the original 5.

All hail the Mountainhome.

I can change my alliance to a kingdom later today. I say later because it still says it's too soon... I guess it has to be on the minute, hah. I'll go on a land claiming quest once I change it to Mountainhome.

I've been a bit inactive the last couple of days, I'm (still) waiting for my brain to turn back on after 21-hour bachelor party. Looks like Mountainhome and Edosul Nilun are both doing okay, I'm just hoping people are fortifying and developing their towns while adventuring otherwise claiming land and conquering towns isn't going to be much use-

Welp. Staberinde invaded my territory and took most of my towns, while I was stuck in a dungeon. It looks like I'll be focusing all my efforts on destroying Staberinde next. :D

I'm getting kinda bored with the game. It's just a bit too grindy for my tastes.

I was hoping there would be a bit more strategic depth to the kingdom thing, like some kind of resource management, but there isn't yet much to that. Kingdom building is basically just grinding out powerful characters in the adventurer part of the game and putting them in cities to protect them, since the veteran guards are a joke. All having cities does is give you a gold income, which pales in comparison to just raiding a dungeon. And theres only so many times you can raid dungeon XYZ for potions and levels before it starts getting tiresome. If you could save up money and hire competitive characters (as in mages that haven't focused all their stat points on divinity and strength, or archers who actually have agility among their top 3 stats) I'd probably find the game more entertaining, but having to seek out decent statted level 1 guys (which are also rare) and spend ages training them up and grinding out potions for them is too tedious.

Hey...

There will certainly be a lot more to running kingdoms in the future - it's a fairly new feature, so still has some tweaks and improvements to come.

As for recruitment - that's something I'd already planned to fix for the next release - it's something that people have complained about before, i.e. you have to 'grind' through dungeons to get good characters. There are a few other things that will make it easier to defend towns (if you have the resources to do so).

Anyway, thanks for checking out the game.... It's something I'll keep working on, and improving, so maybe there'll be more to keep you occupied in a few months :)

I really love how we pop out a post about an obscure game and suddenly the developer of that game shows up. I understand why it happens, but I still love it.

Hey, how do you claim territories for your kingdom? How do you capture cities and when do they hold elections?

There was a bit of a problem regarding flashfreezing, a ballistae, and a barrel of dwarven ale. Gonna fix it up.

You claim territory by going to a bit of land your kingdom does not own, and clicking "Claim Land." You'll know who owns it by the top right map (updated every morning) or the bottom left, where it will say who owns the land you're on. Claim Land will only appear on lands your kingdom doesn't already own.

You can take control of cities in two ways: Elections and raiding. To raid, you must have an average group level of 8 or higher, and sit near the city. The Raid City button will appear, whether it's part of your kingdom or not. Be wary, it's very dangerous. Your goal while raiding is to kill the mayor and retreat back to the stairs. The other way is Elections. You pick one of your party people who is level 8 or higher (as opposed to anyone in an 8 or higher average group) to run. Your popularity with the city and how much money you add to the campaign decide your chances of winning.

I'm not really sure what decides how often elections are run.
