Slimecastle (32,98) could be a good starting point. Very far south, away from any bigger forces, and a prosperity of 1.

If you had necromancy powers, this would be a pretty solid way to prank people.
A creepy old man runs up to you and suddenly the skin in your backpack tries to kill you? High Octane Nightmare Fuel much.

Edit: Hired a Dwarf Mage, level 3. Decent stat spread. Not the best, but at least it's a dorf. How do I find the location of an orb, by the by? It's "north" of a town, but there's a lot of north to cover.
Can you ask the sage for it?

Nope.

Well, I took such a quest to see if I could find it, and my orb was "east" of the city. I found it just twothree squares directly to the east.

I don't know if it helps you in any way.

Up to party level 7 right now and managed to find another Dwarf warrior to add to my party. Only had 1 death so far but I got him rezzed so it isn't a problem.

Hanging out around Carpabbey right now.(9,83)

Ok, It looks like the Time empire is doing some serious expansion to the south. they already have carved their way into the bottom right of the map, which makes my thoughts that you were all just joining the Time empire and screwing over everyone misguided and foolish.

You all need to hurry and push into time as much as you can.

EDIT: It looks like the Mongoo party has made a beeline for the kingdom of crypt's citadel. The raid is probably over or still happening, but it looks as though Time has gotten very, very agressive.

I'll continue to level through dungeons, but it looks like if we want to form a kingdom, it'll be through hostile takeovers of cities belonging to the Kingdom of Time - they're simply not leaving anything alone down here.

Kingdom of Time is also expanding in the Northwest. A lot of towns that were free towns a week ago are controlled by Time now, and the area claimed by Kingdom of Madel (NPC) has shrunk.

Also I'm relatively sure that Oddity Kingdom was not in existence a week ago, so they appear to be a rising power as well.

Agreed. I was online at the time and just noticed it while in a sewer. I'm in oldhaven, I'm going to the citadel. I'm the party of one aligned with oddity.

I'm fairly certian all the powergamer teams are with time, which explains their dual advancement north and south. The fact they just went straight for another kingdom's throat says a lot about Time and how warfare should work.

INTEL:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

So Mongoo set up an election in the Scythe Capital (Not far from Oldhaven guys) and killed the opposition. The election is still on, so if a level 8 player gets up to here pronto we can take it right from Mongoo. What better way to begin the empire other than Stealing a heavily fortified capital right from under his nose?

Hmm, we're the reason Times' being so aggressive actually. I spoke to their leader when we showed up, Time is literally gearing up for all-out war against Bay12 because we're set to outnumber them.

Personally, I like their leader. I'd propose we work together with them, personally, before trying to take on the strongest, most unified force and get our newbie asses handed to us.

I'm cool with diplomacy. But only if it'll end with backstabbing and tragedy.

...Because drama.

I'm at Carpabbey with my party, Alpha. Party level 5.

Buried my starting mage and one starting warrior before I found out about resurrection, so I have 3 (2 recruited) dwarven archers now. Plus a human warrior and an elf priest.

So we're going against the largest, strongest party in the game? When we don't even have a kingdom yet? Alright, sure, let's do this.
