That feel when you're so deep in a dungeon all you can do is tell your priest to remember portal, TOMORROW!

Ok, I conquered Druiddrite. Man, there were lots of those Elite Town Guards to fight through, and those things are tough. Though the castle having level 10 runes of protection, attack and defense probably didn't help either. I swapped out my mage for a third priest for the raid, and I'm really glad that I did, cast haste on both warriors and 1 archer each battle, 3 x healing spells almost every round. I'm guessing I fought most of the 27 Elites that were in the town, it was 4 stacks of between 4-8.

Those Elites with protection runes, they're tougher than the monsters in level 4 dungeons. When you fight them, don't let the computer auto-target for you: I found what worked was aiming everyone at a single guard per round, while keeping the priests on spell duty (auto cast isn't smart enough so do it manual) this ensured taking them down the quickest, which is important because they hit hard.

~~~
EDIT: I notice in the town's news the ex-mayor hit level 26 yesterday. I think this means that levels 26-30 have actually been opened up, and the previous mayor who had been there a long time had sufficient stockpiled XP to go up a level when they day ticked over.
EDIT2: Felllack taken.
A couple of mine jumped up to 27 because of the exp adjustments + exp over the level 25 requirement, so 26-30 is definitely open. And I'm back from holiday - was there anything big I missed? (30 pages of thread is a lot to read <_<)
It might be worth stocking some scrolls of poison to sap the HP of the bottom guard, while you attack the top one, then finish off the weakened guard when the poison expires.  Being frozen is also the opposite of haste, and lets you only move once every other turn.
I still can't find the construction button. I'm in Staberinde, but I'm not sworn to them - could this be it?
you know where the garrison button is? the construction button appears next to that anywhere it's valid. But you have to be a couple of levels higher than for garrison to make a building.
Just so everyone knows, the god-like blacksmith at frogford has retired! Don't think another one's gone up.
Also approaching level 6, so garrisons should soon be possible. Do Garrisons claim territory, IE do I need to find a free area to build one, so I'm not wasting potential territory/potentially pissing off the original owners of a territory when the kingdom goes up?
Ok I took over 4 cities, just so everyone knows - Druiddrite, Felllack, Trueopen and Dust Grove.
Y'know, you might make a better monarch, considering you're already there, and you've invested into the map and whatnot.
I support Reelya for the new king/queen.
Whichever one of you two matriarchs, Reelya or Girlinhat. :P
Or whomever from B12 anyway.
On the note of dungeons--is the 'treasure room' a one-time thing on all dungeons? Or is it per floor?
I've encountered a dungeon with 2 treasure rooms so pretty sure multiple rooms are possible.
I saw two treasure rooms right next to each other at the level 4 dungeon to the north.
garrisons do claim territory, a non-building one gets 3x3, tower 5x5, fort 7x7 and castle 9x9.
The blue fort locations I placed on the map are designed to grab the most land with least amount of castles.
I've been thinking about running around sticking some castles up, then other people can seize them and start a garrison in a castle location rather than an empty field. You guys can work on barracks yourself though, those don't benefit from high Construction skill, only towers, forts, castles seem to (reduces materials need and time to build).
I want to test someone else putting a garrison on one of those spots and I build a castle on top. If that works, then it will make it a lot easier.
