Im starting to wonder if selling a horde of items into a town, without buying much in return, leads to part of the drop in prosperity.

Mostly speculation, but I have noticed a change from when I was spending every penny I made buying items - every town went up in my area for 3 days straight. Now Im just saving cash for blacksmith or rare items so Im mostly dumping items on their markets and I noticed drops the next days. The shops seems to have unlimited cash to suck up your selling but it could have some impact on the calculation if net sales are negative. Could just be random of course...

That would have real implications for how to make cities easier to control. Buy up all the stuff in Ashford, and dump it on the market in the next takeover target, repeat daily. I guess we could try by buying out all the scrolls, arrows, gems etc daily that appear in Ashford, they're useful and the same price anywhere - that would be a good thing you guys.

I dropped a lot of crappy gear on 100,89 if anyone wants to go over and pick it up btw, there was too much dungeon loot and I was down to movement rate:1. Only bother if you're right nearby though, because it's crappy gear.

The map seems to not be getting my position any more. I definitely changed the username and pass.

It reduces the turn cost to move through rough terrain, I think.

How does fortifying a garrison work? Obviously it should be avoided until we have a kingdom, but I can't even see an option.

what does movement factor actually do?
It basically determines how many turns it takes to move on the overworld.  (I don't know about in-dungeon.  EDIT: It seems to always take me 2 turns to move around in-dungeon.)

With a move factor of 7, you can walk over mountains, taking only 2 turns.  At move factor 6, its 3 turns.  Just about every other terrain only takes 1 turn for me.  (If I remember correctly.)

It reduces the turn cost to move through rough terrain, I think.

You don't have a build stuff option while at the Garrison location?  Maybe your party level is below... 8? (or was it 6?)

Nope. It could be party level stuff. I'll look at it more tomorrow.

You can place a garrison at 6, you can build a tower/etc at 8.

Can towns be built, or are we going to have to conquer some places?

Deathable has revolted recently and is now controlled by an NPC, if that's a possible move for us to make?

PM Reelya for pword.

Recruits are in every city at the recruitment center. Low levels, high levels, or brand new characters at a certain level. Cost varies obviously. Lows are dirt cheap like 150-200, high levels very expensive but a good way to buy your way to power with a bit of loss in optimization. Custom characters are 15k a pop so again expensive for an optimized character. You will need to travel around to find what you want.

Well, as far as im concerned any NPC town is fair game for anyone within reason. Theres little point taken a town thats "semi-claimed" by someone more powerful than you though. Skr who owned them Green towns is more powerful then anyone here, why piss him off when there are heaps of NPC towns around that area he has no recent claim on?

If you're going to claim towns, try ones near Ashford.  It's going to be the seat of the Dwarven Empire, so keeping our area local is a good call.

That one metropolis a bit west of us is pretty NPC...as far as I last saw it anyway.
