How I beat a Bronze colossus with nothing

im newish to dwarf fortress less then 2 months, i have this great fort site, ton and tons of iron, gold, useless crap,and  a river

one day a Bronze colossus show up, from past forts i know it hard to kill, and i all had for my military 10 noob axedwarfs.

my plan was simply make a pit cave him in it, the bait a kitten chained to a island connected by a floor grate. every thing went to plan, but my dwarfs made a mistake, they pulled the wrong lever, I notice their mistake order the right one to be pulled, and then i look to see if BC was still on island he wasn't i look at combat logs found him in my pit, you will not guess what happen

he killed a elf merchant's yak took logs from it, then killed the elf with the logs one hit to head

Actually, it was the kitten's fault. More exactly, it was the fault of the bronze colossus for dodging the kitten. Quite possibly the elf's spirit was driving the bronze colossus towards suicidal actions it would not normally take, as revenge for killing it in an ironic manner.

Tree > Elf
Collosus > Elf
Kitten > Collosus...?

Not so sad, it could in the long run be not so benificial.
Better take care of that sooner than later.
After all, an Elf is easier to slay than a Bronze Colosus..

Its not really killing it with nothing. Its an accidental and kinda cool "Dodge Me" trap which has taken advantage of the sheer mass of the colossus to break it via falling, and a kitten as unorthadox dodging fuel.

Well, It doesn't have any hands anymore, so The ability of it to hurt you is a little more limited. It still has both legs tho.
