Choices, choices...
« on: October 13, 2011, 05:21:44 am »

I just caught a land-demon general (Genesis mod civ creature). I want her to suffer for all of the fallen dwarven comrades. I was going to throw her into a pit full of wooden corkscrews, but I want to see if you have a better idea.

Note: It HAS to be a slow death.

Wooden corkscrews sound pretty cool. I've got ideas:
-!!Blizzard Men!!
-Shallow water with carp/other visceral creatures.
-Cave Spider webbing to trap him in a cage trap; put him on display.
-Drop him from ground level all the way to the bottom of your base.
-Obsidianise him.
-...Magma
-Pit him and feed him scraps of goblins and trolls and other goodies.
-Pit him in a room of fortifications; your archers will have a merry time practising on him for... months.
-Do above with wooden and bone bolts.
-Do above with only one dwarf (who will probably reach legendary marksdwarf).
-Put him on display above your front door to deter invaders/annoying elves. Drawbridge could block viewing so migrants can come in.
-Uhh... if you drop him from a large enough height so he doesn't die but his limbs are mangled I think you'll be safe having dwarves with wooden training weapons practise on him.

I don't know yet. I will breach the cavern to see. If I do, a snake pit is a good idea.

A pit with one wooden training spear, connected to a lever on repeat.

Have a dog bit off each of her fingers and toes, then have a swordsdwarf cut off her hands and feet, then her arms and legs, then finally leave her stumpy body to rot.

Alternatively, you can drop her in a pit with some Forgotten Beasts and give the winner an honorary spot in your zoo.

Dig a pit all the way down to hell and return the demon to sender.

Dig a pit all the way down to hell and return the demon to sender.

I'm with this, but the actual *death* there would be a bit sudden.

I recommend building a plague pit: a 1xN pit filled with 4/7 water.  Place the demon general at one end of the wet hall, separated from the rest by fortifications.  March Forgotten Beasts through the rest of the hall, hopefully slowly corrupting the water with various forgotten beast extracts: you want ones with noxious secretions or deadly blood (put some triggerable spike traps in the part of the hall that DOESN'T contain the general to make FBs bleed).  I'm pretty sure the contaminants will seep through the fortifications with the water, stewing your demon general in 4/7 plague.

Put him on display under a grate/bars so he can't escape. Goblins won't siege if you have their leader hostage, I believe.

Also, if you want to execute him and continue goblinite flows, I suggest gladiator pits. Why not make the death of the monsters' leader a celebration?
