wait IDEA! Don't do anything to the kid and the dog and be nice to them say we are here to rescue him then slowly (WITH OUT MAKING HIM BRAINLESS) make him a loyal servant hes kid so it is going to be easier then a adult and we have a smart loyal servant and spy on his home village what better why to take over a place then have the children be our slaves and him as our leader.

The kid is too rational at the moment for that plan to work.  He hasn't cried once yet; we need to break him first before we can ply his phyche.  Furthermore, because of his proud disposition, I'm going to assume the kid is from a high class family, a warlocks family or maybe even royal decent.  So above all else, leave the kid unspoiled for trade.

Do not indoctrinate the kid, ever.  We need his mind intact to get the best reaction from his parents, or to be a loyal servant to completely break his former families heart.  We're going to be his family now.  Stick and carrot gentleman.

Well...all the minions have harder skin now. Their teeth and nails are too. Useful for combat yes, but when you think about it, having extremely hard skin and teeth can take some time to get used to. One of my minions chewed through his cheeks. He's dead from infection now.

Now as for the child...Well as much as shifting into that form seems pleasing, it's simply too much of a hassle. I just became dragonkin! And really, it takes DAYS to change. I simply wouldn't have the time to do that. On a related note, the boy has been in the ruins...And won't come out.

Speaking of the ruins, four more rooms have been cleared of debris. They all seem to be a...vault or storage area of some sort. Perhaps some treasure still remains? Also, my little animals have found an already cleared chamber. Spotless. Lights still functioning. Clean. And some great magic is being done there...It's still behind mountains of ruins of though.

The raids have brought us...nothing. Seems the villagers were expecting the raiders this time and set up a trap. Seems that one of the peasants gave a rallying speech about freedom and is now some kind of hero amongst them...Worrying.

Corrupt the kid, yes, I sincerely doubt the kid will be fooled by the good girl act, especially considering you are in the form of a dragonkin.  Just probe the kids mind, a bit. 

Have your rogue check who the hero is.  No assassination, just scouting. 

Have all your standby humanoid forces train up.

The peasants that were made to train with the shields have completed training. Still confused about being spared indoctrination though. And unwilling to obey.

The vault area was littered with artifacts! Strange orbs, coins, cups, plates, tablets, cubes ,and even a strange little gem. 12 artifacts in all, although I doubt that they're all magical.

Now let's look at this gem-Hey get back here! The boy just ran in and took the gem! AAGHHH!

*An hour later*

The boy is...resourceful. He's squeezed through the debris and got in deeper the ruin. His dog isn't a normal dog; it's one of those specially bred mage-hound. What's a mage-hound? Just a dog naturally born with resistance to magic and even has innate enchantments. Some bored warlock made them so many years ago.

Hmm...Well there are other matters to attend to. I've sent the rogue to check up on the village. I'll go over my books while I wait.

*A day later*

The rogue reports that this "hero" is a young man of 21. Name's Martyn. His parents died when he was young and ever since he's been raised by his aunt. He's said to look noble and trains with his sword everyday. He's friendly....Aah shit, he even LIVES like one of those story-book heroes.

The raiders and trappers were unsuccessful in finding food...
