Indoctrination is complete.

And now onto other matters...

The elf has been sent off to Syclum with 15 gold. The moment our rogue arrived in the city, she immediately began with her tasks...However being indoctrinated does make the victim somewhat less independent, so she wasn't very successful with persuading anyone. Though she does visit the libraries and try to listen to discussions as much as she can.

Eventually, she gathers that there are several artifacts within the city, and many more spread around the region. The reason for this is because the whole region was once the capital of some dead empire...Well that's the current theory anyway. Enchanted mugs were said to be somewhat common but some had great power, such as those owned by the nobility.

After her time in the libraries and lectures, she goes to a tavern frequented by soldiers. Her seduction capabilities were severely lessened when she was indoctrinated; a shame. She is able to get a few soldiers drunk and talking. The walls of the town are 3 meters high and made of stone. Every 10 meters there is  a watch tower. Every 50 meters the there is a large tower with a balista mounted on top. There are multiple murder holes and slits to shoot out arrows and pour burning oil. Finally, the only ways in are via 3  drawbridges or the docks, which themselves are heavily guarded by the same defenses.

As for the soldiers, they number somewhere around 2000, give or take. Three-quarters of them are just militia while the rest are proffesionals or mercenaries. Apparently, there is an engineer's guild and mason's guild that do maintenance work on the walls.

Unfortunately your rogues isn't able to get information on the inner defenses; he only works on the walls himself.

And for my abilities, well what would you expect from a dragon? Flight, flame, intelligence, beauty...But if you insist.

*Shouts*

That did little but scare off the local wildlife.

Speaking of wildlife, have your minions lay out some cage traps to capture whatever animals you can.  Use mind control on larger ones, like wolves or bears, and attempt to magically enlarge smaller animals.  As for the rogue, have them learn more about the artifacts.... try to learn which ones are easy to obtain.

How about we try to get some magic books. we could always use more spells, and maybe we will learn rituals to enhance us even more!

2 orc guardsmen
1 dwarven blacksmiths

Remain at the hill fort to improve our forces equipment.  The others sally forth to some farming village to aquire more food; 20 doesn't seem like enough for 18 of us.  Especially when we're feeding orcs.

(Was waiting for you guys to catch up on the food problem. Thought it would be too cruel to just decrease the food supply automatically.)

Animals...yes useful things. I send four of my minions to this task...

Wildlife Capture:

I send nearly everyone else to supplement our meager food supplies...Which we need desperately.

Remaining Members:
1 dwarven blacksmith
2 orc guardsmen

The fort is somewhat...colder without all my minions. They may have been nearly brainless, but they made this place feel warmer...Don't judge me. Well I should get to work, I and the blacksmith begin the task of upgrading the equipment and supplies.

As for the rogue, she further sieves for useful information. I'm in great luck. One foolish baron is showing off his collection of artifacts to the public on the morrow...I might be able to acquire a few of them should we be careful. As for tomes of magic, well their is a local mages guild here called the "Havast Koremn". No idea what that means, but they have many tomes and most of the members are off on a expedition to the south.

What now, my strange friends?

Order your farm raiding forces to salt the fields after they're raided.

Cast better sharps on your bastard swords.

I commanded my minions to be happy...Well they all smile now, but it means nothing. They're false emotions. Anyway, I've been busy enchanting equipment, casting the spells of the enchanting book. I and the dwarf have improved all the swords; now sharper and deadlier. The bows couldn't be worked on and the armour was only upgraded slightly. Shame that I don't have the knowledge to enchant further...

*1 day later*

My minions came back from their trapping trip today. They've caught a few animals and brought back some food..

4 wolves
2 mooses
3 shrews
1 rat
food x40

Indoctrination Time: 1 turn

The rogue is at work. She's snuck into the display building at the dead of night. Easily dodging the guards and climbing through a window. Stepping silently, she made her way through the rooms and went pass the patrols. Well the baron wasn't too foolish then. He left far too many guards. My rogue eventually made it into one of the display rooms. The label on the door says "Odd Devices". Well who knows what my rogue will get from this...

The room contains machinery; siege machines, odd containers, tools, and the odd automaton. I have no idea what any of these do. The rogue takes three of them and then leaves; she can't carry anymore than that. She leaves the room the way she came, but unfortunately a patrol spotted her. Seeing that fighting was hopeless, she ran. She led the guards on a long chase throughout the building but she eventually escaped through a sewer. She'll have to come back to the hillfort soon, lest she be captured.

Upon further examination, the artifacts are a strange cube with geometrical imagery, an extendable staff, and a strange rectangular object with handles on the ends...

Operation Tornado is still underway...I've no idea why it was named as such, but ah well.

Remaining Minions:
1 dwarven blacksmith
2 orc guardsmen
2 elven archers
1 human archers
1 goblin fighter

The animals have been successfully changed. Stupid things are even dumber than before though. Not that they won't be useful.

The raiders have returned with food, although I lost the berserker and an archer.

Food x80

Now for the rogue, the items she has found are...interesting. Although I would rather know what the artifacts do now, very is also the very large chance that the guards will find her down here. So I command the thing to keep moving. Eventually, she comes upon the sewer exit...She travels through the filth and exits the town. Normally I wouldn't care about the hygiene of my underlings, but those artifacts may have been damaged...

Anyway, now is the time to test the artifacts.

Extending the staff and waving it happens to...do utterly nothing. Obviously it can only be used by one gifted with magical talents, such as I.
Pulling at the handles of the object open ups a compartment in the object. Within it are little cylindrical tubes with dust and liquid inside. Perhaps an alchemist of some sorts could use it.
The rogue currently doesn't have a leg to give. Besides her own, and I require her to be quick right now. She can't even synthesize; she's a bloody thief not an alcemist.

What now, voices of annoyance and advice?

Have all free minions begin hauling stone to construct a fortress of doom atop this pathetic palaside fortification.
