Brier
Brier wakes up, still dead tired from having to cast such a useless spell to accommodate this bizarre place. He gathers up his fortified spear, checks to make sure neither spearhead will fall off, then wanders off to give Forrel his new weapon. It takes a few minutes, but he eventually finds Forrel playing with what appears to be a new pet, or something similar.
Brier hands the spear over, and begins to get teary eyed. It was his first solo-made weapon, and would be going to a friend who was off to travel lands he had never seen. This was the ultimate romance of a deep elf craftsman, and he would hold this memory dear for as long as he lived.
Going back to his workshop, Brier wanders to the back area, and the Weave Cracker is finished. Apparently the new system works, as no damage to the insides can be noted. The shell is slightly deformed, but it's a quick fix that doesn't even need to be mentioned. The door cracks open.
Inside is what would most likely be considered the generator. It was a large, spherical metal... thing. Brier had never seen technology of this level, and what's more is that it's a device made using technomancy. In the center is the mana pool. Normally mana can't be seen unless it's incredibly dense, and even then, it only starts off white. The highest known density of mana turns purple, and that's exactly what the generator's pool is colored.
A control panel that seems less foreign to Brier is seen in a corner, he quickly learns the operations of it, and before long the generator starts. The massive spherical object floats, and begins spinning. Slowly at first, but it reaches an incredibly high speed in a matter of seconds. A barrier around the generator seems to keep it from damaging the room, which he can only thank the ancestors for.
Quickly realizing that the castle is now powered, Brier rushes back to the kitchen and puts the stones in their proper places. He works the stove, sink, and lights. Marveling at their convenience, Brier rushes to grab more stones from their storage. He notices something he hadn't before with light now flowing throughout the kitchen. Each shelf has its own designated area where the stones go. He works quickly, putting the light and water stones in their proper places throughout the military wing he has access to, and goes back to the generator feeling exhausted.
The mana pool is much more dense than it was before, and is currently in the form of a solid black cube. He wondered if it could go even further, but dropped the thought. This is the mana realm, of course it can go higher. Whether he truly wanted to know what was beyond this black cube or not was an entirely different matter.
With little else to do, Brier begins drawing up plans for technomancy gloves.
Veranus Tigerclaw
Veranus wakes up to the sounds of cheers. Apparently the old deep elf inventor got power flowing through the facility, and there was now nearly unlimited light, water, and heat. No one had such conveniences back in the physical realm, so Veranus was rather confused about the entire affair. Regardless, it did nothing to improve her opinion of the Mage King.
The caravan leaves, taking the young Forrel with it. He was a part of her new tribe, or family, regardless of how little they got to interact, so he will be missed until his eventual return. But Veranus had no time for that. She had to prepare to leave for the village. As she travels to inform Cicatrix that she's preparing, Veranus notices that there are no able defenders here.
She had never noticed just how damaged the soldiers and mercenaries in the group were. Most had lost arms or legs traveling through the cave, others were sick or starving. Luckily power was restored so food could be prepared more easily, but it's still a sight she can't ignore.
With Ba being closer, she informs him that she's staying to defend everyone while only Brier is left here. Having a suddenly immense amount of free time for the morning, Veranus decides to try her hand at her sister's bizarre creations again. She manages to call them to her easily enough, but communication is still impossible. It seems that these bugs follow orders rather happily, but lack any real communication skills. Cicatrix was older than Veranus, so she wondered if that extra experience is what allows her to communicate with them.
Still, being able to talk to insects and have them gather information for her will be a valuable tool. Veranus continues attempted communication for about three hours before giving up. She'll have to talk to Cicatrix about it later. As she tries to leave, the drones go into her lap and begin to sleep. Veranus assumes it's because she reminds them of their creator, and realizes just how bizarrely well Cicatrix treats her allies and creations.
Veranus sits there with the sleeping drones and listens to nature and the spirits as she waits. Her thoughts increasingly return to the garden.
Forrel de Yahmiz
Forrel finally manages to wake up to the sight of a rather peculiar lizard. It was small, its scales had rather fluffy feathers, and it seemed incredibly content with being with Forrel. Trying to push the creature away proves useless, but he manages to get ready to leave rather easily. Wanting to see the spear Brier had prepared him filled Forrel's thoughts, and before long he realizes that he's already grown attached to the little fluffball lizard he picked up, and even gave it a name already.
As Forrel becomes more and more confused with how attached he's become to the lizard in a matter of less than an hour, he encounters Brier, who hands Forrel his spear crying. Forrel takes a moment to admire the work. It was rather well made, considering what little time Brier had to work with. Needing nothing else, Forrel goes to the caravans to set off.
The leader laughs after seeing Forrel with his new pet and tells the shaman he has a real handful to work with now. The statement only manages to confuse Forrel, but he feels comfortable nonetheless.
The caravans depart, and after a short time they reach a large cave entrance sealed by a door and protected by guards that looked like they ate dragons for breakfast. Forrel is told to stay inside the caravan, and the doors open to a massive cave filled with light coming through holes in the cave ceiling, and large quantities of water. According to one of the merchants, terrible beasts fill this cave, and even a single step outside of the road they were traveling on could lead to death. A large beast emerges from the water. It has no eyes, so he assumes the creatures adapted to having no light to see, and no longer have the chance to go back.
It doesn't take long for the caravan to reach the other side of the cave, but it felt like years had gone by. The caravans continue on to their first stop, a small farming village. The largest building is a guild office, where Forrel is told he can apply to join a guild.
Cicatrix, Ba'gandi
Cicatrix, exhausted from not going to sleep, loads what she can onto her chimera and asks Ba to keep her safe while she sleeps. Ba goes to fetch Veranus, but is met by her saying she changed her plans. Having little interest in why, Ba shrugs in acknowledgment and wanders back to lead the chimera to the village. The caravan departs at the same time, and Ba smiles at the idea that merchants won't be infesting the courtyard for a while.
Cicatrix fades in and out of consciousness as the two(six) travel to the village, and by the time they get there, Ba has reached his limit in not killing the corpse golems, excluding the mount which he's found himself rather fond of now that he can't smell what it was anymore. He slices the three he still has a deep hatred of vertically in half, and Cicatrix passes back out.
She's quickly woken up by healers that were apparently with the mercenaries. She can last the rest of the day, but is told not to risk staying up another night while under the influence of the spells they cast on her. She wonders what kind of healers cast spells that can kill like that on a helpless "old" woman. Ba and Cyrano seem to be having a staring contest.
