Brier mumbled to himself as he once again picked up his designs.
"Hmm, now... let's see what can be done."

Create a schematic for a component that can extract and store latent magical energy from the area around it.

"The spirits do not like this place...even the very essence of mana is not present. Why would such a place be in the Mana Realm of all places?"

Forrel gestured that it would be best to continue.

Forrel will cautiously walk forward.

Ba walked up to the elf, they seemed oddly familiar, almost as if he had met that elf before. He couldn't quite place where he had seen him before. For now it didn't matter, all that mattered was finding out what happened to Veranus. "Someone said that you were the healer that disappeared with my friend Veranus. You wouldn't happen to know where she went?" Ba paused for a moment, but a moment was all it took for his curiosity to get the best of him. He hastily added, "Have we met before?" before scratching at the scruff of fur on his chin.

Veranus shrugged out of the vessel, and sat cross legged from the Pheonix chick. Her tone was soft, sad, occasionally lapsing into native Elvish.

"My...you are so beautiful, velui...Sevig i veleth nīn...

Davo beriad anech...

I shall name you Lachiel, Daughter of Flame."

She reached out to nuzzle the chicks neck with her left hand, and was rewarded by an tinny appreciative squawking. This was all right. Veranus smiled. So small and vulnerable...but there was strength, deep within, ready to be released-if she raised the cheek properly. Siring a child was not so much molding as clay, as tending a flower-protect it, watch it grow...love them unconditionally, and your love is returned to you in time.

Action: Veranus plays with Lachiel the Pheonix Chick, and asks Asa and Hos what the machine they just used on her did.

Seiyas grimaced at the prospect of having to convince humans to help her. Convincing people was... not her strong suit. At least, convincing people to help her when refusing didn't result in horrible things wasn't her strong suit.

She briefly considered running back to Cicatrix for help. The old elf was probably used to this sort of thing, and probably wouldn't have had much trouble convincing several new minions to aid her. She quickly discarded the notion, however- if she needed the old elf's help for half of her half of the project, exactly how useful was she? No, this was something she needed to resolve herself.

She spent a considerably longer period thinking about ignoring the miners and digging out the stone herself. Certainly, it'd seem to be playing to her strengths more than attempting to negotiate with someone who hated her and didn't have anything to gain or lose by their decision... but she figured she'd have to deal with them at some point anyway. They were crawling around everywhere in here, and to some extent it looked like their territory.

Making up her mind to at least give it a try, she decided upon a plan. Humans might hate half-demonic scorpion marauders, true, but did they hate lions? Actually, she'd never actually heard if they hated lions. She didn't think so? Well, she could hardly make things worse, so this was the plan.

Selecting a target, and trying very hard to make it look like she wasn't selecting a target, she sent her lion golem on ahead to catch the miner's attention. Once it'd noticed her fine lion golem, she approached herself.

"Hello! That's my golem. I need help getting more stone for another golem. A much larger golem."

Ask miner for help, using lion as ice breaker.

"Good for you. Now move, you're blocking the miners from the lit path. You'll have to ask our boss, Brier, if you want anything mined up."

"This is the Hub, home of the Mage King, and I believe the creator of this realm, or at the least the one who made it visitable by all. Who are you, and why do you fight me when I have done nothing against you?" Newman asked, and his voice was utterly calm compared to what was running through his mind. They were scenes of death, and destruction, fragments of memory from that day that caused him to become this. Newman was used to these by now, whenever he fought they kept him company, kept him from fading off that narrow path he must walk.

Seiyas' expression turned to annoyance briefly before softening. It hadn't worked, but it hadn't made things worse either. Progress!

"Where's Brier?"

The miner shrugs, then points in the general direction of the Hub. "Boss tends to come between here and some workshop he opened up by the garden. There's no saying if he decides to wander away, though."

Seiyas' tail twitched slightly in annoyance, but she remembered to say "Thank you" before scurrying off with her golems.

Following the miner's instructions, Seiyas quickly located the workshop. Upon noticing the occupant, she paused a moment. She hadn't been expecting anything in particular, but this short, shaggy grey thing was still not what she had expected.

Still, he was perched over... something technical, so maybe it was him.

"Are you Brier, of the mine?" she asked. "I need stone, and was told you control it."

Brier tensed and swiftly turned from his work, his gloves buzzing slightly before he let out a sigh and relaxed.
"Indeed I am. A golemancer, are you? I am sure the stone will be satisfactory. where should it be delivered to?"

Action update: order stone to be mined and sent where Seiyas chooses. Work on a security lock for the workshop in spare time.

Seiyas blinked. She had been expecting something a bit more complex and adversarial.

"Oh. Yes, I make golems. I suppose the stone should be brought to... near the plant house in the courtyard. Unless you think someone would object to carving and animation there.

I need it in one piece if possible, but it needs to be rather large.

...and by the way, what do you do here, other than control the mine?"
