"This stuff is too corrupt to eat, so take whatever you want. Set up some traps while you're over by the forest, we'll pay you for anything edible caught in them whenever you visit."
Forrel de Yahmiz(night)
Forrel takes a moment to think, then grabs an axe that was lying around inside the hut. He raises the axe with both arms, but succumbs to the pain from his arm being stabbed earlier. This was the first time since Hyperion he had taken any notable damage, so Forrel took a moment to rest. He sits on the bed and surveys his surroundings. If he hadn't known this was all stolen property, Forrel could have easily mistaken Johnny as an accomplished adventurer.
There are trinkets, battle trophies, and pelts from the most fascinating of beasts. Further inspection reveals that these are heirlooms of the villagers, so this is, in fact, the scourge of the village he had heard of. Forrel, recovered from his pain, takes a much safer approach and simply steps on the axe while holding it to the throat a few times. The head is rather... damaged from the haphazard decapitation, but it's still clearly the pirate-like visage the bounty poster shows.
Forrel has to abandon returning any of the heirlooms personally, as Johnny is simply too heavy for him to carry with anything else, but his eventual return to the village leads to him telling everyone of his triumphs. He collects his 150 gold from the absolutely delighted receptionists, then returns to the caravan.
Forrel falls asleep with Luren as the caravan departs from the village.
Cicatrix special
Cicatrix takes Cyrano's advice and finds a few plants favorable for modifications. In exchange for setting up said traps, the mercenaries have provided her with a cart and are loading bodies on it. A few of the larger plants are turned into golems to aid the mercenaries in defending themselves, rather than traps. But it's only now that Cicatrix realizes she's seeing her creations. She can even see her own body, yet she's still blind.
Thanatos has already left his avatar, and Cicatrix had no plans of angering a god, so she drops the subject, but is still happy at the revelation. She returns to the borrowed houses, and sleeps on the bed. It reeks of corruption outside, but Cicatrix had little care for what the strange new scent was.
