Inspect the colored stones with rapt attention, then do a sweep of the available corridors to see if there are any doors that could be opened with basic technomancy.

The statue I threw Veranus under wasn't a statue of MK. It's more like a stylish pillar, really.

    Brier
Brier gets off his bed, and inspects the stones by the oven first. There are no pits for wood in the actual oven, only a small cradle, and the top seems to have a similar cradle with grates covering it. A vent similar to those found in his homeland hangs above the oven, though it's currently closed.
He looks at the stone cradle, and picks up a yellow stone. He can't make heads or tales of what it can do, so he places it back in with the rest and begins searching for a manual of any sort. A somewhat long search reveals nothing, but he finally finds the manual hidden in some bizarre crawlspace under a metal cradle with a hole in it.
Manastone Use
  • Insert the proper stone in the proper slot. Yellow for lamps. Red for oven and stove top. Blue for sink.
  • Turn on the generator in backroom 2.
  • Allow mana to flow to the kitchen at the controls.
  • Tap the yellow and blue stones once to activate and deactivate. Red stones are controlled through dials, only use when cooking.
  • Always turn off the mana generator and remove the stones from their cradles when the kitchen is not in use.[/i]
Brier can't make heads or tails of where the generator might be, so he begins looking around. For hours he looks, but to no avail. The reptilian bird shaman, a combination that seems incredibly suspicious to Brier, tells him to meet at the courtyard, then runs off in some direction or another.
Brier goes to sleep after the courtyard meeting, dreaming of ways to open the doors without damaging them or the building.
    Veranus Tigerclaw
Veranus looks at the statue she'll be camping out under. It disgusts her to have to rest under something a conquerer of nature made, but until a better alternative is found, she'll just have to grow used to this scar, like all her others. It's decided, this is now her statue. Veranus sighs at the idea of being the master of a conquered piece of the land, but there are no other ways around it.
The dejected elf takes a stroll around the courtyard to gather information from other survivors. Perhaps that will ease her mind. The only things talked about are how to map out such a massive structure, and how long the group will be able to stay here before Hyperion finds a way to attack, even without the ability to come to this realm.
Or at least, that's all she heard until two old human scholars are found discussing the Mage King. He was apparently a halfling, part forest elf, part dragon. He was one of the founders of the dwarven Urist clan, and he created thousands of reservations to protect nature from those who might destroy it in the physical realm Veranus was born in. Even the forest she lived and grew in was one of his reservations. It seemed confusing that a man such as that would keep his castle under control. He created the greatest forests in the physical realm, so why are these plants so locked up?
A passing thought, right now Veranus needs at least a raised area to sleep on in her shelter. She finds a hammock in the barracks that seems up to her standards. She quickly hauls it back and sets it up under her statue, and is told by one of the other forest elves in the courtyard that a meeting was called for by some shaman.
Veranus goes to sleep after the meeting, bothered by what was discussed. Quickly passing, and turning into thoughts of her tribe.
    Forrel de Yahmiz
Forrel spends most of his time gathering people for a meeting. He tells the deep elf who invaded the kitchen last, and rushes off to gather spirits from the garden before the meeting can start.

RP time. I'm not writing anyone's conversations for them, so you'll have to deal with these. If you talk to an NPC, that's going to be where I come in on these moments.

Brier walks to the courtyard, fiddling with his goggles and looking around nervously.
"So uh, I found out that there is an uncertain number of generators around here... I could probably fix them up and get power going if we can find them. What has everyone else found?"

The RP is for the meeting. I would have made mice's turn longer if it weren't. And Brier is the only one who knows specifically how to make weapons. You can start dabbling once RP time is over and day two starts if you want.

((Edited and reposted for time))

Veranus was doing some pre-sleep stretches when she saw Brier speaking again of some strange wonder he had uncovered. In truth, most of it went right over her head, and made her feel like a fool. He could do great and amazing things with his technology-though it paled in comparsion to nature-but it would take a momentus event for her to share this particular opinion with him.

She addressed him, perhaps a little more harsh than she had intended.

"It's too late in the evening for me to hear you quack, Brier. If you can get it work, bravo. If not, do not trouble me with it. At least speak to me without the quaver in your voice, Wizard."

She sighed. He didn't deserve that. She adjusted her tone. Restrained now. Rage kept in check...for now.

"Forgive me that, Brier. My courtesy is the least of the things I have lost lately.

For, all my searches found were some wooden toy weapons, so my find was even less than yours. I suppose you people use them educational purposes. I can train the rest of you in weaponcraft, but we would need to find real arms for everyone as soon as possible."

Veranus crouched down on her legs and began eating one of her rations-some sort of dried cave fish leftover from the cave. It tasted fairly horrible. Memories of her husbands cooking-sweet smells and tastes-began to intrude upon her mind, and she chased them away. Then again, what didn't remind her of the past these days? There were even times when she began to hate the memories, along with everything else, which was something that shocked Veranus to her core. If her love turned into hate, what was the point of living? What was the point of anything?

"Gods, let me find some peace."

She prayed silently, but it took a moment for her to realize she said that out loud. She favored Brier with a grim look. He might have heard her...might have.

In the courtyard, Forrel explains his findings.

"This palace is a home of spirits, a home of those who control the little things of life...In addition it's size is greater than any fortress or even some countries...There is yet much more to learn here."

"I have also discovered a great blade of power...That could destroy this whole castle."

He stroked his neck-feathers and turned towards a door.

"Don't touch the sword. Now if you excuse me, I have business to attend to."

Sleep.

Actions for day 2

Imbue clothing with wind spirits. Imbue staff with nature spirits. Searcb castle for a library. See if there are any spirits of memory or recording. Try to go to the other Spirit Lair I saw before.

Veranus nodded.

"I suppose we might use the sword as a last ditch weapon against a foe that breached the walls...would be a more heroic end than allowing them to take me again, to be sure."

She was surprised to hear there were spirits here. All she knew was good spirits kept a place alive, and bad ones made it dead, but most spirits were not good or evil, they just were. Veranus decided to burn an offering to her ancestor spirits before she slept-the rest of her meal would probably do. Then again, she had a feeling they mght have departed from the physical world along with the rest of her clan.

Brier inspects the sword for a moment while adjusting dials on his googles, before taking a quick step back.
"Huh, funny place to put something like that..."
He begins to walk back to the kitchen, seeing the small meeting come to a close. He delays sleeping, instead tinkering with his technomancy supplies, trying to create something to get through the locks on the doors.

Veranus some fresh air...

To anyone who is listening, she remarks.

"I'm going to the lake we saw coming in. With luck, we might dine on something better than salted rations tonight."

Morning Actions: Go to the lake and spear some fish and birds to bring back to the fort. (possible all day action?)
