Brier's eyes darted forth at the though of people actually looking up to him and actually having to stand up for someone when the time came, but he steeled his will and nodded. For progress and for revenge.
"Of course. We will survive, and one day, we will punish Hyperion for all he has done."

Cicatrix 'watches' the fight. Weapons and warriors fly in flashes of mana vision, until very quickly it ends. "That was impressive Cyrano. I'm not quite sure what happened, but I didn't expect to see Ba on the ground so quickly." She pauses briefly for a second to ponder the victorious mercenary's advice to her ally. "Your foes getting stronger through death... sounds like I'm not the first Necromancer you have encountered. Where are you staying anyways? we should go inside as I have lots to discuss with you."

((I had a feeling it was a dragon. Wasn't expecting it to actually be a dragon, though.))

Something happened to Forrel that his Clan had trained him not to. He had not done so when he saw Piami's Mural. He had not when the when he saw a baby puppy. He had not when he saw the menagerie at his first Carnivale. He had not when he saw his 2nd cousin for the first time. But this time, he couldn't help it.

"AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!"

Oh true, he had always thought the thing cute, but until just a few seconds ago, he had a suspicion that it was going to kill him. Now he knew that the thing wasn't going to kill him.

"Um sorry about that...Uh...it's so cute....What exactly is a Divine Plume?"

Forrel left the caravan with his little dragon baby and thought: what to do with a dragon? He had only seen two other dragons in his whole life; once while on a short apprenticeship with an elven druid, and the one that guarded the entrance to this Realm. Of course, those two weren't Divine Plume...Anyway, he would name her Luren. That was the name of his friend...Who got squashed by Hyperion...

Weirdsound: "We're already at my new house if you wanted to talk about things, but I'll tell you right now that necromancy's got nothing to do with what I told Wolfy."
Miceclus: "They're called the Divine Plume because of an old myth that predates known history that the feathers of an elder dragon of the Divine Plume are a sign that peace will come to the three realms. What I personally find interesting is their light, soft feathers and scales, and small adult frames. Rather unusual for feather class dragons."

Interesting.

"May I ask another question? How did you originally get to the Realm of Mana, and how long have you people been trading here? It seems as if this has been going on for ages, even before the titans went on their rampage."

((I'll assume I heard his name somewhere))

Ba was insulted by the mercenary's comment. "Cyrano, I don't intend to lose anyone else. I'd rather die protecting everyone than see someone I know die. If that means that I'm weak then so be it." Ba strapped his axe back into place, and started walking back towards where Cicatrix was.

Cicatrix shrugs and follows Cyrano inside taking a seat when offered. "You said you could fill me in on some of the dangers travelers face in this realm. I'm also curious to know a bit more about these powerful guilds you mentioned earlier..."

Weirdsound/The Fool: "Calm down Wolfy, it's not like you'll stay dead if you die the right way. But it's definitely the only way someone as naturally strong as you will ever manage to get stronger. Anyway, we're gonna have to put that talk on hold for a bit, you'll need to know the dangers of the world if you want to survive here.
First off, monsters and beast races from the physical realm are quite a bit more powerful in this realm and have mutated in some strange ways. So much so that some've needed to be sealed entirely. So when you're fighting an actual fiend, make sure you don't just run right at it. Actually strategize, find its weakness, and go for its eyes if all else fails.
Secondly, don't anger the guilds. If you do something to get on their bad side, you're likely to have a bounty on your head soon, because they only get angry at criminals. The Continental Guild Association can provide you guys with a proper trade route if you choose to establish one, which is probably why the merchant leader, Tince, took your lizard pal.
But the most important thing you'll need to know for now is to never let your guard down. Ever. You just can't risk it when you're so far into the mountains.
Oh, and if you ever go through the cave the caravans traveled through to get in contact with the guilds, don't stray from the road. Wouldn't want you running into Tiamat. There's more you'll need to know, but that's not very relevant to you guys yet. You asked about guilds earlier, but I'm not that knowledgeable. Tince is coming back in a week, so just him when you have the chance. Now, we can talk about the dying thing if you want.

Miceclus: "Well, I was born in this realm, and so were the past few generations of my family. We've forgotten how we got here in the first place. I have traveled to the physical realm a few times though, my last trip was about a year ago when I met Ba.
Ehm, that last question's a bit difficult to answer. The guild system was established by the Mage King long before he died, which is the only thing we know for sure. Because of that information, we know the system is at least 3000 years old. So, yes. I suppose you could say the guilds have been established since before the titans, but it's more appropriate to say that the titans didn't even exist when the system was started."

Cicatrix smirks and folds her bony hands together. "Yes, the dying thing. Now you have piqued my curiosity... the dying thing and the larger, mutated, creatures. I can already tell that there is alot in this realm relevant my personal interests."

"You'll stay dead if you try this, so you don't need to worry about it. Wolfy needs to. If he wants to die right, he'll need to drink some liquid mana, have his heart pierced immediately after, then have more liquid mana poured into the wound. It'll destroy his mana pool entirely, but as long as it's done right he'll wake up in the soul realm without a body. If he can make it back, he'll have a new fighting style and a weapon suited to it."

Cicatrix grabs her own arm and squeezes, as if to illustrate her physical feebleness."If I wanted meer strength I would have modified myself accordingly by now dear. I wouldn't have done it even if I was fairly sure I could get away with it. I'd much rather surround myself with strong people than be strong in and of myself."

She pauses for a second and chuckles. "Although I have a feeling that may well be my ego speaking as opposed to my logic. Nothing like commanding the respect of beings who could crush you like a nut... So what inspires a mercenary like you to get a house in a village like this Cyrano? Is this a beautiful place to retire? Or perhaps a good staging area for a future operation eh?"

Ba thought for a moment in silence. "...I'll do it... My friend may not want strength, but I'll need it if I'm to challenge Hyperion. Where do I find liquid mana?" The idea of losing his body worried him, but if he was to fight Hyperion he wanted to win and Cyrano's strength was enough evidence to convince him. "I'll expect a rematch later." Ba smiled. He never thought to ask what the soul realm was, nor did it really seem to matter to him.

Cicatrix drops her voice to just above a whisper. "I have no objection or complaint... Unless there is a source nearby I'll try to modify some of my bugs to produce liquid manna for you. I how long will the process take from the perspective of a witness in this realm? If it doesn't look like you are coming back, could I put your corpse to good use Ba?"

"Liquid mana can be made pretty easily, you just need to pour mana out until it becomes dense enough, but the amount required for this process might take more than one person. I don't see why bugs might need to come into the equation. But to answer your question, the mana in his wound should start burning and heal it into a scar about an hour after he dies. Then he'll wake up screaming and pass out for a few days while his soul returns to his body. He'll be a real treat to see once he wakes up again."

Ba turned towards Cicatrix speaking at a normal volume. "I may need your help Cicatrix. I don't know much about mana and I'll need more than a bit of it. And if I don't come back to life within a day you can use my corpse to fight Hyperion." Ba turned back towards Cyrano. "Thank you for the help. I really will expect a rematch if I come back. I hope you'll be ready."
