    Brier
As the meat finished its cooking, Brier felt a sort of emptiness. There was very little to do without resources or power to this hunk of magical rock. He gave everyone their shares, and began fiddling with the stones he had found. If a mana generator could activate them, why wouldn't simply pumping pure mana into them? Brier is caught in a cycle of self destruction, pumping mana into several stones, until he eventually gave out.
Pumping mana directly into the stones did nothing. So apparently these stones aren't meant to be dangerous, if there's no way to test them. The question is what they could actually be used for. There is little time to ponder, as Brier recalls the young Forrel requesting a dual spear be made.
Putting his mind at ease, the old elf begins working on everything. The branch is stripped into a proper pole, then coated in a light film of mana so it can be given a metal shell for added durability. As he lets the mana coat rest before stressing it, Brier begins sharpening the stones. They were already formed into fairly decent spearheads, given that the job was done by an amateur. The spearheads begin forming more, and Brier grabs the now ready pole, and turns to the forge.
Forgetting that the forge isn't lit, Brier ponders for a while. It was true there was a spell that could produce the required heat in his modest shelf of arcane magic, but he didn't terribly enjoy resorting to such a power. It wasn't destructive, nor was it particularly dangerous, it just disturbed Brier how much energy such a weak thing took.
Brier sighs, and casts the arcane spell Aestus on the forge which was prepared beforehand. He puts the coated pole into a cast, then pours the required metal in with it before it begins to cool. He lets the pole cool on its own, then quickly hauls it to the cooler in the kitchen and lets it finish its cooling there. Brier smooths out the metal, then, after some deep thought, carves his brand into the finished pole. This was the first time he was the head worker, so he never had a brand.
He finishes the dual spear by attaching the spearheads to either end of the pole, secures them with another smaller burst of Aestus to get the metal to be attached to them, then sits the spear down on a work table. Completely exhausted from using the most worthless spell he's ever known, Brier passes out on his new bed.
His dreams are plagued by whispers from dark ones.
    Veranus Tigerclaw
Lacking a shield, Veranus gets Ba'gandi to agree to make a shield. He informs her that it might have to be made completely out of wood until there are actual materials and a working forge to make something out of the proper metal.
She waits a while, trying to control the bugs her new sister in arms has been seen fiddling with in the plant room that was made. The interior is practically covered in silk, but unlike spider silk, this material is soft and doesn't particularly stick to anything. As Veranus continues her failed attempts to tap into their minds, she notices the queens lay eggs. Some of the drones quickly wrap the eggs in a different silk from what covers the walls and floor. She touches the eggs, disconcerting the drones, and an unusual hardness is felt from the dark silk. Trying a variety of different methods to smash the eggs leads to the discovery that the silk is, in fact, harder than her fist.
Disgruntled, Veranus leaves the plant room, and sees Ba'gandi with the finished wood shield. He says to be careful with it, but the warrior maiden has difficulties understanding why the shield would need to be taken care of. Regardless, she eats her share of meat, and gets to stripping the meat off the Liger bones. The head is... a bit much for her to deal with having just eaten.
She wanders off to sleep under her statue after wiping the blood off of her hands.
Veranus dreams of the history stone again, this time it appears to be much further in the past. A group of humans is fighting a group of orcs over the stone this time. The humans are being led by a human resembling the large mercenary.
    Forrel de Yahmiz
Forrel gathers his meal after giving Brier his unfinished weapon, and is told to come back in the morning for it. To pass the time, Forrel fishes. He gets a few good bites, but nothing he could kill is brought above water. He sighs, and drifts off to sleep early. He feels a few things placed on him while he sleeps, but it's still dark when he tries to see what it is, and immediately passes out again.
    Cicatrix Greywood Greenflower
Cicatrix uses her corpse golems to help create their replacement, with Ba as a passive observer to keep anything ridiculous from happening. The salamander is cut into halves, stripped of its legs, and the skull is turns into a bony guard for the beast's heart. Damage to the heart, brain, or spine tends to be bad for corpse chimera golems. After a while, Veranus brings the stripped Liger limbs and head.
The legs are attached to the new beast, and a sick use of necromancy and nature magic combines the old legs and the new ones. The new legs are then attached to the beasts body. The heads are also combined, with the Liger's being the brain used. The beast is patched back up to a working state, and then infected with the cursed necromantic mana Cicatrix uses. Its body is modified to only attack when Cicatrix draws its teeth or claws.
Continuing into the morning, Cicatrix cleans up the mess the drones made in her home. The silk does feel nice though, which is exactly what she would expect from one of creations.
    Ba'gandi Kashi
The gnoll finishes his meal, and agrees to make Veranus a shield. However, he is also asked to keep the corpse golems from messing up the new thing Cicatrix was making, which seemed just as important.
Disregarding a frustrated looking Brier, who was using magic. He didn't know Brier could even use magic. Regardless, he gathers enough wood for a shield and wanders off to the corpse shop Cicatrix set up. Heavily distracted by the corpse golems, Ba is amazed that he could even complete the shield without it breaking. He hands the shield to Veranus, still in awe that the corpse golems didn't distract him into its destruction, and goes to sleep after waiting for Cicatrix to finish her gory work.

Morning, etc, etc, Werias is here. Forrel is leaving. Veranus, Cicatrix, and Ba are going off to a village. Brier and Werias are the only players left at the castle, which is ideal.

Awake and see what it was. Gather the nearby spirits to me. Ask them what it was. If I find out, chase it. If I don't, go to the caravan and chat with the mercs and merchants. Ask them where the trade routes go through.

"Ahahahaa! Now that is a mount!"

Load my bone tools onto the new mount and depart with Ba. Catch up on my sleep while riding.

Ba first set his eyes on Greywood's new creation and turns his head in a moment of fleeting disgust. His heightened sense of smell wasn't helping as it smelt ripe with decay. "I'd hope that isn't coming directly into town. I'm not sure if we want people to think we brought something threatening with us." He tried to keep a straight face, and avoided saying that the creature was horrifying.

Walk out in front of Cicatrix and her creation to act as a caravan guard.

"Oh. This is outright normal by my standards. I'll get to the real threatening and freaky stuff later. If it isn't coming into town I'm going to need help hauling stuff too and from wherever I park it... I intend to do some shopping."

Cicatrix yawns. "Wake me around lunch time dearie, or when we get near town."

"NO! JUST SHUT UP! THEY WOULDN'T DO THAT! I WOULDN'T DO THAT!!!"
Brier bolted up in his bed, panicking a moment before calming down and rubbing his eyes.
He didn't really blame the voices, it was their nature to drive people (most notably him) to dark deeds, but their torment was still rather annoying.
He headed to the courtyard in time to see three of his comrades leave with a nicely crafted abomination. Brier found Forrel and gave him his new spear, then went back to the forge and tentatively opened the door, checking for any resilient traps still active in the room. After his curiosity was sated, he put both of the weave crackers on whatever door he could find.

The voices had worried him this time. They seemed more focused, more urgent. He looked over his papers and began drawing up a new design for a pair of sturdy and protective gloves that were able to launch bolts of magic from his palms. Better safe than sorry...
Give Forrel his spear, investigate the back room, shuffle the weave crackers once again and begin designs for magical energy gloves.

Veranus tries to communicate with the bugs again, this time being more gentle instead of trying to force them one way or the other.

    Brier
Brier wakes up, still dead tired from having to cast such a useless spell to accommodate this bizarre place. He gathers up his fortified spear, checks to make sure neither spearhead will fall off, then wanders off to give Forrel his new weapon. It takes a few minutes, but he eventually finds Forrel playing with what appears to be a new pet, or something similar.
Brier hands the spear over, and begins to get teary eyed. It was his first solo-made weapon, and would be going to a friend who was off to travel lands he had never seen. This was the ultimate romance of a deep elf craftsman, and he would hold this memory dear for as long as he lived.
Going back to his workshop, Brier wanders to the back area, and the Weave Cracker is finished. Apparently the new system works, as no damage to the insides can be noted. The shell is slightly deformed, but it's a quick fix that doesn't even need to be mentioned. The door cracks open.
Inside is what would most likely be considered the generator. It was a large, spherical metal... thing. Brier had never seen technology of this level, and what's more is that it's a device made using technomancy. In the center is the mana pool. Normally mana can't be seen unless it's incredibly dense, and even then, it only starts off white. The highest known density of mana turns purple, and that's exactly what the generator's pool is colored.
A control panel that seems less foreign to Brier is seen in a corner, he quickly learns the operations of it, and before long the generator starts. The massive spherical object floats, and begins spinning. Slowly at first, but it reaches an incredibly high speed in a matter of seconds. A barrier around the generator seems to keep it from damaging the room, which he can only thank the ancestors for.
Quickly realizing that the castle is now powered, Brier rushes back to the kitchen and puts the stones in their proper places. He works the stove, sink, and lights. Marveling at their convenience, Brier rushes to grab more stones from their storage. He notices something he hadn't before with light now flowing throughout the kitchen. Each shelf has its own designated area where the stones go. He works quickly, putting the light and water stones in their proper places throughout the military wing he has access to, and goes back to the generator feeling exhausted.
The mana pool is much more dense than it was before, and is currently in the form of a solid black cube. He wondered if it could go even further, but dropped the thought. This is the mana realm, of course it can go higher. Whether he truly wanted to know what was beyond this black cube or not was an entirely different matter.
With little else to do, Brier begins drawing up plans for technomancy gloves.
    Veranus Tigerclaw
Veranus wakes up to the sounds of cheers. Apparently the old deep elf inventor got power flowing through the facility, and there was now nearly unlimited light, water, and heat. No one had such conveniences back in the physical realm, so Veranus was rather confused about the entire affair. Regardless, it did nothing to improve her opinion of the Mage King.
The caravan leaves, taking the young Forrel with it. He was a part of her new tribe, or family, regardless of how little they got to interact, so he will be missed until his eventual return. But Veranus had no time for that. She had to prepare to leave for the village. As she travels to inform Cicatrix that she's preparing, Veranus notices that there are no able defenders here.
She had never noticed just how damaged the soldiers and mercenaries in the group were. Most had lost arms or legs traveling through the cave, others were sick or starving. Luckily power was restored so food could be prepared more easily, but it's still a sight she can't ignore.
With Ba being closer, she informs him that she's staying to defend everyone while only Brier is left here. Having a suddenly immense amount of free time for the morning, Veranus decides to try her hand at her sister's bizarre creations again. She manages to call them to her easily enough, but communication is still impossible. It seems that these bugs follow orders rather happily, but lack any real communication skills. Cicatrix was older than Veranus, so she wondered if that extra experience is what allows her to communicate with them.
Still, being able to talk to insects and have them gather information for her will be a valuable tool. Veranus continues attempted communication for about three hours before giving up. She'll have to talk to Cicatrix about it later. As she tries to leave, the drones go into her lap and begin to sleep. Veranus assumes it's because she reminds them of their creator, and realizes just how bizarrely well Cicatrix treats her allies and creations.
Veranus sits there with the sleeping drones and listens to nature and the spirits as she waits. Her thoughts increasingly return to the garden.
    Forrel de Yahmiz
Forrel finally manages to wake up to the sight of a rather peculiar lizard. It was small, its scales had rather fluffy feathers, and it seemed incredibly content with being with Forrel. Trying to push the creature away proves useless, but he manages to get ready to leave rather easily. Wanting to see the spear Brier had prepared him filled Forrel's thoughts, and before long he realizes that he's already grown attached to the little fluffball lizard he picked up, and even gave it a name already.
As Forrel becomes more and more confused with how attached he's become to the lizard in a matter of less than an hour, he encounters Brier, who hands Forrel his spear crying. Forrel takes a moment to admire the work. It was rather well made, considering what little time Brier had to work with. Needing nothing else, Forrel goes to the caravans to set off.
The leader laughs after seeing Forrel with his new pet and tells the shaman he has a real handful to work with now. The statement only manages to confuse Forrel, but he feels comfortable nonetheless.
The caravans depart, and after a short time they reach a large cave entrance sealed by a door and protected by guards that looked like they ate dragons for breakfast. Forrel is told to stay inside the caravan, and the doors open to a massive cave filled with light coming through holes in the cave ceiling, and large quantities of water. According to one of the merchants, terrible beasts fill this cave, and even a single step outside of the road they were traveling on could lead to death. A large beast emerges from the water. It has no eyes, so he assumes the creatures adapted to having no light to see, and no longer have the chance to go back.
It doesn't take long for the caravan to reach the other side of the cave, but it felt like years had gone by. The caravans continue on to their first stop, a small farming village. The largest building is a guild office, where Forrel is told he can apply to join a guild.
    Cicatrix, Ba'gandi
Cicatrix, exhausted from not going to sleep, loads what she can onto her chimera and asks Ba to keep her safe while she sleeps. Ba goes to fetch Veranus, but is met by her saying she changed her plans. Having little interest in why, Ba shrugs in acknowledgment and wanders back to lead the chimera to the village. The caravan departs at the same time, and Ba smiles at the idea that merchants won't be infesting the courtyard for a while.
Cicatrix fades in and out of consciousness as the two(six) travel to the village, and by the time they get there, Ba has reached his limit in not killing the corpse golems, excluding the mount which he's found himself rather fond of now that he can't smell what it was anymore. He slices the three he still has a deep hatred of vertically in half, and Cicatrix passes back out.
She's quickly woken up by healers that were apparently with the mercenaries. She can last the rest of the day, but is told not to risk staying up another night while under the influence of the spells they cast on her. She wonders what kind of healers cast spells that can kill like that on a helpless "old" woman. Ba and Cyrano seem to be having a staring contest.

Staring at the mercenary leader he has to ask something. If he really is the legendary figure he saw in his vision-like dream he should be outrageously strong. "You seem to be the leader here. Care to practice your fighting skills while my friend rests? We'll stop at first blood, if that is alright with you." The thought of a fight sent chills down his spine. It might be because of his dream, but he has to be sure.

Veranus eventually rises, making sure not to disturb the drones any more than she has to. There's a certain addictive simplicity to these creatures, she thinks-no doubt what the Necromancer enjoys about them.

Later, she decides to speak to Brier. Why not? He had done something amazing, he deserved encouragement, at least.

She found him in his workshop, looking over his schematics.

"I assume the restoring of power was your doing, engineer? I believe you deserve some praise. Such things are little less than miracles in my eyes, after all. "

She stood impassively, leaning against the wall, and awaiting his response with a small smile.

What could this little thing do, exactly? Well it did resemble him somewhat-a feathered lizard. Perhaps the Realm of Mana changed things to suit a person...Who knew. Wait, that was stupid. The caravan master would of course know. After he did that, he would have to look around the village and do what he could do.

(The following is just so I can remember what I want to do. Don't pay any attention to it.

Ask the caravan master why exactly this little furball will be of trouble. Gather up spirits and ask them as well. Explore the village and see how many people live here. Ask them how long they've been here. Offer my services as an enchanter. Ask the local spirits about anything. Ask the villagers about any events or rumours they have heard of. Go to the Guildhall and find out exactly what kind of guild are they (farming, carpentry, singing, etc.) and ask them where they're HQ is. Ask the people and caravan master if they've heard of Solom. If any time left, train with spear. ))

Brier stepped away from his schematics
"Uh, thank you, Veranus. I'm just surprised that it managed to hold up so well after all these years. The charms on this place have it like it's stopped in time, there isn't even much dust anywhere.
He looked over at his near empty resource bins.
"We're going to need to find a stable source of metal sometime, I could melt down the cutlery, but I doubt it will be of the quantity or quality that we need for parts and blades. "
He took a moment to scratch his beard before moving to another issue.
"Do we have anyone here who knows anything about farming? Those traders didn't seem to be packing any produce..."

Veranus thought of the group...there were certainly some who knew to work land. She hadn't questioned them yet. It was overdue.

"I will be going through what people we have left, speaking to them. I will ask for farmers-and miners, I suppose. It is time we began to rebuild with what we have. I will need to take the duties of a leader upon myself, I suppose.

From you, Brier, I will need help. I was not elected to be a leader of these people, but some of them look up to me-as they look up to you, as well. Even if you did not know it.

I could use your support in case there is a challenge to my authority...I have been loath to take command up till now, for many of them are deep in grief like myself, and all to eager for a target to lash out at. Still, it must be done, or we shall all perish here at the doors of this place, or be scattered to the four winds. It will be difficult, but I believe we can do this."

She put her left hand on his shoulder and looked into his eyes. Her haunted eyes bored into him with the weight of the lives she had promised to safeguard.

"Are you and I in this together, Brier?"

"A fight? Sure, why not. It's been a while since I've actually had to fight, so I could use the exercise."

    Ba'gandi special
Ba'gandi and Cyrano leave the village center and begin stretching. Neither combatant has had any particularly useful practice in a long time, so they both were interested in testing their abilities out. Ba removes his axe from the strap he keeps it on while he isn't fighting. Cyrano reaches to grab his massive sword, and Ba fully expect him to need the use of both hands to lift the weapon. Much to his dismay, Cyrano has little difficulty using a single arm to operate the heavy weapon.
They both get into position, and Cyrano gives Ba the first strike while apologizing for not having a smaller weapon to use. Ba calmly analyzes his opponent before rushing in and dying like he normally would. His right arm is hanging freely, while the left is holding the blade over his shoulder. Cyrano is standing in a leftward stance with his legs slightly bent. Cyrano is keeping his right arm unexposed, but giving his left enough to quickly slam the weapon down if Ba gets too close.
Cyrano's armor isn't very impressive above the legs, there probably aren't many armorsmiths that would bother making anything large enough for the man, so any direct hit should end the match immediately. Cyrano decides to go for Cyrano's right arm. It would be harder to reach, but it's ultimately the most defenseless part of his body. He rushes, and Cyrano simply sidesteps Ba as he crashes through. Two swings are taken, both of which are easily evaded by Cyrano, who's merely laughing at Ba's humble awkwardness.
Three more swings are taken, and Cyrano begins his assault. The overly huge human is too fast for Ba to keep up with, and soon the excited gnoll is found in a defensive stance. Cyrano is nowhere to be seen, until Ba finds him just in time to jump out of the way of what was most likely a lethal strike. Cyrano pulls his sword of the ground, revealing a large scar left where he landed. The rush is continued, Ba barely managing to avoid the strikes. Eventually, the two combatants find themselves back at square one.
Cyrano throws his sword, causing Ba'gandi to abscond to the left in order to avoid being hit. Cyrano jumps and catches the sword before it lands, and swings at Ba, forcing him to the ground.
He pushes his sword four feet into the ground and tilts it toward Ba'gandi's head, giving him a small cut under his eye and drawing blood. Cyrano pulls his sword out of the ground and helps Ba get up. Cyrano and Hyperion were the only two people Ba had ever fought that put him in such a one-sided battle. When Ba asks for advice on how to get stronger, Cyrano's response is puzzling.
"You're strong enough. But if more strength is what you're really after, then try dying a little. It's how plenty of people I've lost to get stronger." He then wanders back into the village center laughing uncharacteristically hard as he remembers the battles he's lost in his life.

    Forrel special
Forrel pondered his new little friend, and wandered around the village. There were a few wanted posters, but when he asked the locals about them, they said they were just hoodlums stealing bread from shops, and committing small misdemeanors. The only reason there are even wanted posters is because the local guild was required to set them up. There was, however, one criminal worth a hefty sixty gold coins. It was chump change in terms of bounties, and no mercenary worth his guild would accept the mission, but for someone like Forrel who had little combat experience, it would make for a perfect exercise.
Other than that there was little to do, so Forrel returned to the caravan master to ask about the little guy.
"Well, how do I explain this? Hrm... Your little friend there is, well, she's a dragon. She's still a little tot, but she's definitely a dragon. We were carrying her with us since she was an egg, and we had planned on turning her over to the Beast Tamer's guild so she'd be properly raised, but, as you can see, she's already too attached to you for us to do anything about it.
"Oh, and do be careful with her, she's a dragon of the Divine Plume family of dragons. They're very fragile for dragons, but make for good companions."
