    Brier
The content elf makes his way toward the kitchen, making a note of a distinct lack of any kind of food for the people that probably need it most. Brier walks into the fridge and... By the ancestors, that's a hefty pile of rabbit. Clearly this is a death threat, or maybe not, but it probably is. Regardless, it's more work to do, so who cares.
Brier begins cutting larger slabs of carcass into small cubes that are good for stews. The rest is simply cut up into chunks, stored in an orderly manner, and the excess is buried in the garden as fertilizer. Whether or not the plants grow a taste for flesh remains to be seen, but nothing would surprise Brier in his extreme levels of paranoia. The zombies he'd occasionally seen wander about are nowhere to be seen, a good sign for Brier's health. Another necromancer is exactly what Brier wants to see now that he's been forced out of his own realm by Hyperion.
Regardless, Brier contemplates how exactly the meat will be cooked, but he then realizes the third door is open. Inside is a small room, nothing fancy, not much in the way of stored items. But there's plenty of wood to be scrapped, and there are a few dozen baskets of the colored stones here. Even some that weren't listed on the instructions, quite the fine find. Disregarding his tendency to fall into a trance when he finds things he wants to study, Brier scraps a few chairs, and uses them as firewood to cook some of the meat. No stew tonight, but one of these days, Brier will cook a fine meal to enjoy in the confines of his new workshop.
    Veranus, Cicatrix, Ba'gandi
Veranus and Cicatrix have a pleasant walk, while Ba is busy making sure the corpse golems don't get in the way of his hunt. Cicatrix occasionally stops to curse the disgusting poisonous plants she finds, while Veranus tries her best to keep Cicatrix on her feet. The trio has a peaceful walk, with the occasional animal that passes by being killed by Ba'gandi for an eventual feast. No large mammals at all, until the sight of the Liger's corpse is found. To stay out of Ba's way as Cicatrix advises, Veranus handles carrying what bits and pieces aren't too destroyed to be worked with.
The three stop by to deliver the dead rabbits Ba killed, drop the Liger pieces in a special storage Cicatrix makes on the spot for her "home," then the three continue back in the forest. About a mile into this testament to nature's true power, a native Salamander comes out. The large fire lizard is peaceful at first, and Ba keeps his axe down to avoid alarming it, but the corpse golems go berserk and begin attacking the peaceful creature.
Not enjoying the slaying of the helpless, Ba draws in a breath, kills his compassion, and beheads the beast before it can destroy the forest or harm the two women he's escorting. It was never a happy day on the job when something with no intention to fight has to die.
Ba, sick of hunting from this distasteful event, requests that they return to the Hub. Back at which, they all go their different ways. Cicatrix goes to prepare the arms, legs, and head of the Liger that could be recovered, and to prepare the Salamander Ba gave her permission to use. Veranus goes to meditate on top of her statue for a while, thinking about the people gathered here. And Ba simply cleans his axe in the workshop.
    Forrel de Yahmiz
Finding himself with little else to do, Forrel goes down to the forest in search of materials. The spirits are convinced to lead him to a twig of the treasure trees he and the quiet fox wolf person were led to the other day. It literally is just a twig, nothing spectacular about it. However, the sheer size of the trees makes the twig massive compared to the norm. He believes it can be fashioned into a fine pole for a weapon as long as he can get the strange fellow who stole the kitchen for a few days to help in the preparation of it.
In need of little else, Forrel finds a few decent rocks of a modest size to work with. He cuts into them with wind and water spirits, and the rocks eventually form into proper spearheads. He puts a few finishing touches, and a mark from a fire spirit to brand the rocks his.
Having time to think, Forrel realized that he felt more at ease in this realm than he did in his own. He felt no obligations, could freely make his own decisions, and there were spirits abound to talk to as he pleased. He realized, for the first time, that the prospect of returning home has never been his priority since reaching the point he has. What lies ahead in the coming week has given Forrel a restored sense of purpose, and he couldn't wait to finish his preparations.

Brier finished cooking and puzzled on what to do next. He took a moment to slap the weave cracker Mk. 1 onto the closest door outside of the kitchen, then headed back inside. He spent some time investigating the crystals, trying to figure out what to new colors were used for and how they worked. He spent extra time making sure that the crystals were not defective, as that could lead to horrible, horrible things when they found the generator. He then began placing them in their appropriate areas before eating a ration and heading to sleep.

After Ba finished cleaning his axe he headed out to find Cicatrix. He approached her after she was finished preparing the corpses. "I don't want these mindless walking dead in the fields anymore. If you can't control them, then they are a threat to everyone. If that salamander started a forest fire we might have all been in danger." He glared at her, even if she couldn't see or know that he did. "Keep an eye on them and I won't have to put them down. I don't want to see them attacking things without your permission again."

"I'm working on suitable replacements as we speak. The zombies are crude tools of a desperate necromancer. I fully intend to break them down for parts sooner rather than later."

Cicatrix smirks. "In fact, when we travel tomorrow I'm not going to bring them into the town. You can destroy them as soon as we arrive safely. Would you like me to have them put up a fight, or would you prefer static targets?"

---

Action: Cicatrix will find some food for herself in the fort and a few strips of raw meat to feed to her pet bugs. Cicatrix has a lot of work to do before the trip and is willing to stay up all night to get it done. If all goes well she can sleep on her new mount during the trip.

First: Raise the liger head to a state of undeath. Cicatrix will do her best to preserve the animal intelligence and hunting instinct of the beast... she grows weary of working with her stupid flesh golems. The Liger head will eventually be part of a more advanced minion.

Second: Create an undead mount/beast of burden. Separate the salamander into halves. Take the front half of the salamander and hack off the legs. Attach the liger limbs to raise it higher off the ground. Animate as a mindless golem who's default behavior is non-aggressive. If the remaining Salamander bits look edible dump them into cold storage for the others to deal with, otherwise try to feed them to the alter.

Ba smirked at the idea. "I'll lop off their heads once we get to town, but I want them to hold still. They aren't worth the fight." Ba'gandi's face became serious. "I'm going to kill the mindless ones, new or not. I need to be able to trust the ones I fight beside."

Sleep and kill off the zombies when we get closer to town.

Cicatrix nods. "There are several proper uses for Mindless undead. One of those uses is to serve as beasts of burden... I'm going to spend a good portion of the night turning that salamander into something that can haul back any spoils we win in town. I'll try to set it to default to non-aggressive behavior, so don't go lobbing of it's head because it is incapable of thought."

The high elf reaches out and places a thin boney hand on Ba's shoulder. "Speaking of trust, it is likely that to make this creature I will have to forgo sleep tonight. Can I count on you to protect me if I choose to nap aboard my new creation during the trip?"

Ba was taken aback by the question of faith, but he placed his scarred hand on the elf's shoulder. "You can count on me to watch over you during the trip. We're after the same enemy, and I don't want to lose another. I just don't feel like I can trust the walking dead with much. If they don't do anything really stupid I won't kill them. Keep them out of trouble and they'll be fine."

"After what happened today... I don't blame you for your mistrust. Do bear in mind however that I usually hold my creations to a much higher standard than those three things over there."

Cicatrix cracks her bony knuckles. "You should get to bed deary... I want to depart bright and early. Now then, I should track down that huntress, get some food in me, and get to work."

---

The necromancer approaches the Statue where Veranus sits in meditation. "If you want to take the meat off those Liger legs I'd suggest you get on that quickly. I'm going to need them in a few hours."

She pauses for a second before bringing up another topic. "...You mentioned you had some basic training in the field of nature magic, correct? How would you like the opportunity to get some practice in?"

Yes, the Realm of Mana was a far better home than Forozza...and yet he felt sad. Forozza didn't have the spirits nor the freedom, but it was his home. He remembered the sweet smells of the Haal baazar and the warsongs of the Dancing Blades Clan. His mage friends who got drunk every night, and old lady Hanny who made those nice loafs...not to mention the death of most of his clan.

But it would be best not to dwell on the past, dwelling on the present was a better idea. He needed this spear to be finished, but that Brier person was not likely to be available lately...He could ask the merchants, perhaps.

Go to Brier and get him to finish my spear. If he can't or won't, head to the caravan and ask them if they can finish it. Afterwards, imbue with spirits of wind, water, and nature. Go fishing until it's time to leave.

"Ah!" Brier quickly turned to the intruder, a wrench in his hands.
"Oh, of course, Forrel. I'll get on it as soon as possible." he calmed down when he knew who it was, motioning for Forrel to put the unfinished spear in the workshop.

Veranus had in the lotus position, trying to steady her heartbeat and began to rearrange her thoughts to gain insight-it was said the greatest Elves could do so in the middle of battle-when she heard the Necromancer speaking to her. She popped one blue open and sighed.

"It would be an honor to train under you. My sister was my former trainer. She always instructed me to not let my pride allow me to get in the way of my advancement. She's gone now, so it seems you are as good a replacement."

Before or later...

Veranus approached Bagandi, who was cleaning his axe with carefree thoughtfulness. She recalled a time when she could the same thing and achieve something close to peace.

"Bagandi, son of Kash-Hail and well met. I was meaning to ask...

Can forge me a proper shield? My own was shattered by Ogre Berserker as I held pass for the other to escape back in the cave. A good end for a well made shield, anyway...I don't require much-just that it be light and unecumbering. I can pay you with gold, if you wish it, or I could attempt to work what little magic I know to your benefit."

Actions: Train Nature Magic by taking control of the Necromancers bugs while she's gone, after Stripping the Meat from the Liger. Cast a spell Bagandi might want in in the school of Illusion or Nature in exchange for a shield when time permits.

"Oh Lessons?" Cicatrix was taken aback.

"Not what I had in mind. You see, I have a swarm of bugs that I am breeding and mutating to produce useful substances for us. I'm leaving at dawn with Ba to meet that mercenary in a nearby settlement. We may be gone for several days, as I intend to endear some of the important figures in town to our cause."

She smiles. "I am willing to let you use any new offspring my Queens produce as a sandbox for your powers. Mutate them into something useful... or just flood them with energy until the explode in a shower of gore. All I ask is that you keep the swarm fed while I am away, and that you leave my established queen and silk makers out of your experiments."

The high elf leans against the statue and ponders briefly. "If you want lessons... I'll be glad to give you some when I get back. I was planning on taking an apprentice from that group of orphans you mentioned earlier. I'll let you sit in on the nature magic lessons... and the other ones if you have the stomach for them. If you feel yourself a competent judge of talent and potential, I'll let you pick the lucky child while I am gone, so as I can start as soon as I return."

"I wouldn't mind trying to forge a shield, but my talents lie in the crafting of weapons. If I forged a shield it might be crude, but it would work until you find another."

Craft a shield to the best of my abilities.

"Don't think simple dear." Cicatrix takes a seat near the statue. "Push your limits with the larva. Modify them to do and be wonderful things! The well being of the ones I have already modified is important... but your education far outweighs the life and well being of any fresh grubs."

The necromancer reaches into a pocket and produces a gold coin. "If you find the group group needs anything in particular while I am away... send a bug after me as a messanger and I'll try to pick it up in town. I'm not good with merchants... but I bet I can talk somebody into helping me barter."
