[Not a bug] Making an artifact doesn't improve skill
« on: November 01, 2007, 10:59:00 pm »

I had a craftdwarf who claimed a clother's workshop and created an artifact hood. I expected him to acquire legendary skill, but he stayed at novice. What happened?

Was he possessed? Possession is the only Strange Mood that doesn't result in skill increase. Which can be especially frustrating if a possessed dwarf makes something like a floodgate that'll cripple him/her for as long as he/she carries it around.

This is a fox skull helmet. All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. It menaces with spikes of fox bone and is encircled with bands of fox leather. This item is haunted by the ghost of Alfador Angrorung the fox.

Oh you're right, I think it was a possession. I had forgotten about that peculiarity. Sorry for the false bug report then. I seem to get only possessions in this game, and now I have my best miner walking around with an artifact cabinet!!
