Wierd thing to note here, the caged minatour grew up in one year.

Not only that, the minatour is running around my fortress somewhere, all of the rhino's, giant badgers, giant cheetahs, giant jaguars and all the other exotic beasties are missing.
Corpses have disappeared... And a lot of my fortress is pitch black, for some reason it's being treated as an undicscovered cavern o-o

And what else...
SUCCESS!!! CONSTRUCTED ARTIFACTS DO STAY ALIVE AFTER RECLAIM!!!!!!!!!!!!
As for the goblins, all the previous friendlies are dead, the hostiles are dead (though my dwarves had a more direct influence there) and the minatour has pretty much claimed half of my fortress. Damn.

Well that was an interesting ending. BACK TO THE TESTING!!!!

*Edit, found the hostile goblins... Well I say find loosely.
20~ levels below my fortress it says there's an ambush! Drive them out! in the pitch black that was once some nice hallways.
I feel sorry for my reclaiming 7.
**Edit damn, looks like everything that wasn't friendly or tame is living in my fortress.
The dark looks suddenly very scary.......

I'll just be editing my past post to keep things clean... Man this minatour has really learnt from the dwarves. Perhaps I designed my defences too well - I did not expect them to be used against me.

The 7 human guardsmen have holed up in a burrow (miners didn't finish digging, makes a good chokepoint).
The minatour is sprinting towards something, hopefully it hasn't smelt my humans.

This is scary. The goblins are mutilated corpses.
The animals are gone. The minatour is rampaging through my own fortress.
I am really glad I tested this out before I broke the cavern layer.

SEE?!! MY PARANOIA WAS JUSTIFIED!!!

My only regret is the minatour is hoarding the only picks I have.
If I could map this... I could snag some wafers without having to breach the caverns at all in the main save.......

Just think if it wasn't for the minatour, I would be seeing live happy hostile goblins chanting around adamantine spires :[

*edit
Found the sight of something horrific...
Piles of dead bodies.
Looks like in the end, the goblins holed up together (WE HAVE PROVEN GOBLIN COMMUNITIES AMONG DIFFERENT SOCIAL GROUPS!!!!!! YAAAAY!), fought with my giant cave badgers, native crundles and bugbats and the minatour was the one to end it.

Have to find out where this addy spire leads too.... This is rather peculiar.

Sounds like stuff straight out of a horror movie. Hopefully my trip to the caverns will be a little more orderly, and won't end up adding any more things to my SINTGD list(like forging more sarcophagi).

Currently, the only visable living thing in there is plantlife, and a small tribe of olm people, peacefully attending their business atop an underground mountain. Who knows, perhaps the little scouting trip will go along smoothly, without any casualties on either side. And I can get to constructing that test facility.

King Dza, to be honest I think most of the horrors in the fortress are my fault ;_;

But there is hope...

I found... A LIVE GOBLIN!!
A simple thief, he's friendly, but a CRAP TON of serpent men and swallow men are edging closer to it.... And my humans.
I MUST SAVE THIS GOBLIN!!!

Though I think it's just my luck that all of my caverns are particularly Fun.
It's a damn good thing I backed up my save ;P

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Looks like we know for a fact goblins learn, work together and congregate around each other for support, and will all divert their attention to doing the same task of utmost importance, that rivals on sheer dwarven zealousy.
But why would they seek demons for leaders?
Back to the theory board....

So they can have a giant, three-headed, plague spewing monster has their ultimate weapon, of course!

They need something to help get through  :P

Perhaps...we have had it wrong all this time. If the goblins are really the ones in control, summoning the inhabitants of hell at their will for whatever purpose they see fit(a general, leader, lawgiver, ect.),not only would it mean that we have greatly underestimated them, or that they have mastered dark arts beyond imagination, but that they have the ability to somehow tame demons.

Then again, there,s always the possibility that they are desperate in their struggle for survival, and are attempting to releasing the fiends of hell as a last resort. but that wouldn't really explain the extra goblins you found.

Interesting...

They have fat guys sat at dwarven computers running Runesmith. Goblin's are just examples of THE AI IS A CHEATING BASTARD

Well, it looks like we now have a justified reason to building doomsday weapons to kill all sons of goblins.

The goblins are building their own doomsday weapons.

THOSE GOBLINS!!!!

*Edit, a goblin maceman just singlehandedly took down a goblin bowman ambush and a swordsgoblin ambush, with a copper mace, without getting a single scratch.
Bat Goblin does not want the evil goblin's plans to come to fruition.
**Remember the law giver I found in the addy spires? Well I found him in my previous save.
Rather, I caught him. Two ambushes have just gutted two dwarves (a hunter and a peasant), and my militia commander was injured but has healed quickly.
The Goblin Maceman is still kicking ass.
***3 goblin lasher ambushes just attacked right when my minatour had gotten loose again. Going to have to savescum to continue testing, and this time it's not on purpose :/
[I should be more careful with putting semi mega-beasts inside my fortress, and then arming them]

Err, guys, I think I've just discovered the greatest goblin killer since toasted magma.

Hostile goblins do NOT attack goblins of their own civ, even if they're friendly.
Friendly goblins on the other hand, are all too happy too.
