I'd been watching Stone for the last few hours, waiting for his shadower to make his move. Now it was happening all too fast. I was only half-way down the fire escape when the Watchman spotted me.

The Watchman mearly glanced up at me as leveled the gun once more at Stone's back.
I yelled down to him, "Stop, Wathchman! I'm here now. I can take him down to the police station. Drop your weapon!".

The Watchman laughed, a cold, humourless noise that reverberated across the alley.

'This isn't something you'd want to get involved in, mate.' he called out in reply. He was glancing back and forth between Stone and me, stepping slightly towards the thief.

Not wanting this to end in violence, I sighed and palmed my weapon. ''This doesn't have to end this way, Watchman.''
