Terrifying biome, yet no fun stuff...
« on: October 06, 2011, 03:31:37 pm »

I spent around 20 minutes trying to find a terrifying temperate marsh and I've looked around my map but I've only found regular animals.  There are no skeletal or zombie animals to be found, is this possible?

It's possible. For evil biomes you either get one with zombies, one with skeletons, or one with normal wildlife - but in that case, EVIL tagged creatures for that biome might spawn.

Same here.  I embarked in a sinister freezing biome, and the nastiest thing I've seen so far is some blood gnats.

I embarked in an evil zone and all I got was Dark Gnomes for 10 years and haven't seen them for a while now. I demand skelks, skhorses, and skarp!

Have them killed. Nothing solves a problem quite as effectively as simply having it killed.

3 more and still no skeletal or zombie animals.   I've decided to just use this biome because it has werewolves.

skeletons and zombies are pretty weak in this version, with the hitpoint placeholder system that will be thankfuly removed next version.

Just wait until you get an ogre. Or two. That'll put the terrifying in your biome.

Don't you mean "I embarked on a terrifying biome and all I got was this XXt-shirtXX"? ;)

Of course, that made me think of "I've talked with Necro, and all I got was this !!t-shirt!!:P :D

On topic: I think the one time I had a terrifying biome as part of my embark (managed a five biome embark, with lots of different metals ... then flooded the fort the first winter trying to get my cistern set up.  :-[ ) all I ended up with was giant badgers and badger men.

I lol'd at khearn's and Poindex's comments...

Anyway, are you sure you didn't embark on an overlapping peaceful biome?
