Honestly I have no idea if I should be spoilering this... Since... It was such common knowledge on the Sims boards even before the game came out.

You should probably unspoiler it, in my opinion.

I did not read those boards.  Please explain the specifics, such as how to become either one.

The wiki has more to tell, but that's the gist of it.

Well just make sure that your family members have a strong bond.

When one of them dies in an unfornate accident... you will know what to do.

THOUGH there is another way. But it is a bit tougher.

...These methods are slightly conflicting, and somewhat vague.

Well, I stopped playing this a long time ago, when it's expansion pack was only world adventures. The one that I posted would be the vanilla sims 3's methods of resurrection. Don't know if the other is an Ambitions exclusive, or my brain is playing tricks with me.

I have an evil sim who married his criminal boss.
He now writes novels about moronic crabs.

I did that one thing, so I like to think I'm a bit experienced with this.

Basically, if a living Sim and a dead sim are good friends, you'll eventually get an opportunity to take their grave to the laboratory and pay an obnoxious sum to "bring them back" as a playable ghost. They still age, technically, but they only have one life cycle change and it sends them "back to the underworld" or something. From what I remember, their grave goes back to being a regular grave, and you can eventually pay to bring them back again, but I'm not totally positive.

If I recall correctly, they can be fully resurrected by feeding them ambrosia.

I do believe that you're right. I also think it's possible to do so with "dead" ghosts, no?

Well, I haven't tried feeding the neighbor ghosties with life enhancing foods during my playthrough, since I was kind of a bit of a hoarder for those hard-to-get ingredients, but I think it also works on them.
