Your nerdy bragging rights
« on: October 03, 2011, 02:38:33 pm »

What are your nerdiest bragging rights? Did you kill a dragon with a single massive damage critical hit in Dungeons and Dragons? Are you the proud owner of the most horrifying Chaos hordes in Warhammer Fantasy Battles? Do your programs run into tens of thousands of lines of code? Brag about your nerdiness here :P

I'll start off by blowing you all out of the water, I constructed my own alphabet which I use as a kind of shorthand:

Linking it here because it's far too big to put in a post.

That's the page that my alphabet evolved on, the more current versions of it are in the middle (I write weirdly when creating stuff :P) You may also notice the distinct rune-like feel to it. Yes, my love of dwarves is to blame for that :P

I decoded the internal picture format of an old game by stepping through assembly and hacking the dosbox VGA emulation.

I have appeared on National TV due to designing, building and competing with fighting robots.

This is ignoring the bits about being a Physicist (where I have some AAA nerdy wins), building siege weaponary, or being pretty damn good at a truly geeky sport.

Killed me a bear when I was only three.

EDIT: And built two conlangs (still building....), a couple of conworlds...

Oh, and have painstakingly researched and reconstructed my family tree to about 1600 individuals going back as far as the Norman Conquest. And I can go back six generations in every direction.

Cool. I do that too but never made up my own alphabet, just used Ultima runes.

One time I programmed an AI that talked back to me through a chat interface and learned from my language, like a sort of primordial chat-bot.

It... I'm pretty sure it was mocking me.
