I primed my turn, Biag.

That last turn didn't go too well for you. Nice attempt, but I decided to get a little risky.

Did a forced restart on that broken game for you 3.

Also, whats the status on the 4 people still in their first match?

Nope, it's still broken. Doesn't think it's a hostage game any more, but there's still no map.

Ok, would you two play a round outside the tournament and Youtube the results. I will admin it to the winner.

Stupid bugs.

At this point, shouldn't those games start defaulting to whoever last gave their turns?
I believe I read that the game gives two weeks before it decides on its own.

Apparently the devs removed the forfeit feature with the intent of replacing it with the 2-week limit, but haven't implemented it yet. So right now there's no means of anyone ever finishing a game outside of a standard win/loss/draw resolution.

Could we perhaps replace them with people who lost their first match? Give them a second chance.

This is not possible.

Orb just soundly trounced me, pretty much completely due to that turn with all the death. Good moves, bro.

I got lucky when I took out your rifleman.

I've been messing around with aiming, and I think its whoever has to turn the least wins the gunfight, all other things considered equal. If my guy had been going a slightly southern direction, or you had been heading towards the window, the entire game would have went differently.

"Edit" Actually, looking over your movements, it appears your guy was aiming the wrong direction, even though I was just doing a normal 'run', being aimed the wrong direction seems to be worst.

The way things work is something like this:
+ Bonus for aiming
+ Bonus for cover
+ Bonus for crouching
- Penalty for moving
- Penalty for range
Being caught off-guard causes the target to only start aiming when the aggressor fires his first shot (?). Other than that turning takes no time whatsoever no matter the angle.

Stand -> crouch or crouch -> stand takes half a second during which you can't aim or shoot at all.

Each weapon type obviously has different base aiming times. In absolutely equivalent scenarios there's a predetermined result (essentially random, decided when the game is started).

Wrong. Cover is far more important than aiming. And there is no combat bonus for crouching.

I quote from the wiki:

Quote
When a direct fire unit, A, engages another unit, B, there is a computable time that it will take for A to fire a kill shot at B. If A dies or B moves out of A's vision or engagement range before this time is up, then no kill shot will be fired.

To have a better shot at winning a gun battle you want to engage an enemy unit at an appropriate range, where appropriate range is Short for Shotguns, Medium for Machine guns and Far for, er, sniper riFles. Some unit types (machine guns and sniper rifles) have a large difference in firing times based on range.

The factors that affect this time are listed in order below:

Unit type - shotguns have the shortest time, snipers the longest.
Distance to target - closer target: shorter time.
Cover - target in cover: longer time.
Stillness - the more quickly a unit was moving before they started firing, the longer it takes for them to get a kill shot.

Furthermore, there is a delay associated with changing stance (from standing to ducking and vice versa). A unit will not be able to fire (the kill timer will not count down) for .5 seconds after changing stance.

Finally, there is a tiny pseudo-random bonus or penalty determined by turn number and player id. This is not something worth worrying about as it will only matter in the case of a bilateral engagement between units whose other bonuses are exactly the same. In any case, you can't do much about it.

True, but remember that the moving penalty will negate that. Still+aim beats move+cover.

I don't know if uncrouch counts as movement, though.

Note that I didn't specify how important anything was, only that it had an effect.

And there is a bonus for crouching. I speak from experience.

Edit: I guess the crouching bonus would fall under "stillness" on that page.
