Uh. It seems games between Biag and I reset after the first turn is done. This has happened twice, and I just got 'challenged' by him again, making it three. Hm?

How about you guys play a game outside the tournament and I use the results from it to decide which direction I admin-decide the game? YouTube it for verification. (Very easy to do even with the game automatic upload broken. Just hit record offline and then upload the record.ogv file from the FS directory to YouTube)

Man, we have awful luck. Orb, I challenged you to a game with no advanced options. Let me know if you hate the setup but hopefully this'll work out.

If we still can't get it to work after this I would be alright with forfeiting to allow the tourney to move on.

gg Sowelu. Secondguessed myself with the LOS abuse bit, but I lucked out anyway.

I think the second round map - not to spoil anything specific for anyone else - puts things in a bit of a bind in places. Pitched battles are certainly more balanced, if less interesting.

It might've been fixed by now, but YouTube was rejecting the generated .ogvs last I tried.

Good game.  I have been shown who is the boss.

I was really impressed by your rocketry--  two of those kills were pretty much dead on.  Merry little chase we had around that middle-left building, though.

Yeah, the chase is what I mean. I ran my machinegunner around some high cover at the start, exposing him enough to trigger your shotgunner's aim but not staying in sight long enough for you to shoot. Stopped you from catching up with me. I thought you'd catch on and double back to try to head me off at the start of turn 2, so I had him spin around, but that didn't turn out well. Had I just kept on looping around the cover the rocket would've hit before you could fire, and the MG would've lived.

LOS dickery was the only way out of that situation. I'm actually very surprised how little people seem to use the continue on sight/focus/ignore orders, and it screws both players over often (even if only one's not doing it, because it messes with the timing and such), although it's usually fine in the case of shotgunners.

I did expect you to keep running in circles, but I figured I'd just keep following until you changed your tactics and got shot.  I used continue and ignore a lot on that, actually.  And even if you won that, my own MG was in position to help out...though honestly I was pretty worried about your shotgunner too, that really complicated things up north.

  All in all a very stressful match--it would have gone on a lot longer with no rockets, that's for sure!

Not to sound whiney, but how is it that some of the 1st tier matches are still undecided? Frozen Synapse isn't nearly as bad as Bloodbowl, where you need two people to agree to meet at a certain time for a full hour+ (and lord help you if there's a connection problem!)

You need like 10 minutes to play a turn. You don't need your opponent online. You even get a helpful email when you've got a turn waiting for you. Just hop on, play, log off.

Even if each player only played a single turn each day, we should still have finished all the round 1 games by now.

(This rant brought to you by the person who (aside from the bye) was the first to finish his game, and is getting impatient on whoever he's playing next.)

Other than Orb and Biag having their odd problems, I have no idea.

The problem comes with people not playing a single turn per day, I suppose. Me and Siquo struggled to get any real progress over the weekend. I committed turn 8 this morning.

Probably getting to the stage where everybody should be wrapping up though.

I felt completely out thought for the first four turns - just watched the game again, your shotgunner could have scalped my rocket (but for 'continue on sight') in turn 4 and it surely would have been game to you!
