This thread has reminded me that I need to finally finish the campaign for this game. I've played a few online matches too but I find the single player gameplay more enjoyable since I don't have to wait for my opponents move and playing the computer is less stressful.

I like the setting they went for in the story. The plot also becomes quite interesting near the endgame. I think I have 6 or seven missions (2 operations) left to go. Some of the later mission pit you against some crazy odds.

Just got a bugged hostages match in which both of us had 100 units. Well, I had 99 + 2 hosties and he had 100, but yeah. 70 of mine spawned in a box and I couldn't get them all moved before the game crashed (repeated attempts), so I didn't get to see if my computer could handle a match like that. I assume not, which is a shame.

You sure it was bugged? The game allows custom setups.

I just bought this game. My scary lack of planning ahead to deal with turn-based battles like this is causing me to lose the first mission over and over.

It was a default match, and the other guy was just as surprised as I was.


EDIT: Yeah, I'm pretty sure of it being a bug. It just happened again in hosties, and again the other player was also confused, so it isn't some sort of preferences thing. Thankfully this time 70 of them didn't spawn in a box, so the game didn't crash.

For those of you wondering what it looks like once you commit the orders:

Apparently the game dislikes an 18 on 18 Situation skirmish. It never spawns enemies, you need to choose Opposite Sides for it to work. I also almost gave my poor computer a heart attack trying to move 36 units and compute the AI's movements.

EDIT: AHA! Finally beat the first mission! 1 casualty from a machinegunner blowing his head off from down the hall after he got another guy.
