Both of you can easily purchase the game, as it is in the latest Humble Indie Bundle, which, if you are so absolutely strapped for cash, can be purchased for a measly single cent.

Not going to lie, kind of pissed me off how I accidentally pressed the little red button thingy at the bottom corner and it sets me up with a game. Fine, except I barely know how to play and don't WANT to face someone. So that's going to be a loss on my record just because it doesn't even tell you what the button does until you press it. And like a retard I pressed it twice. So, two instant losses.

I decided to just make another account and apparently your CD-Key has one use, so you can only make one account. Guess my friend who wanted to come over and try the game won't get to make an account for himself either.

If you don't play the first turn, after 2 weeks the games will disappear with no blight on your record.

Just buy your friend a copy through the bundle. The game is essentially free right now.

I'm convinced it's the thought of losing that is far worse than the actual act of losing.

Much like the thought of a potato-pc is worse than actually playing Aurora on one.

Might crank it up tonight and test that theory out.

The Frozen Synapse theory, that is. I think I'm Extradave.

Don't mind me, just being cranky and making an issue out of little things.

I got it in the latest Humble Bundle, and I am utterly baffled by it.  I haven't cleared the first turn of the first campaign map, because the tutorial fails to mention that after previewing the effect of your orders, the enemy dudes move too.

Anyway, I'm Aqizzar of course, on the unlikely chance that I ever start playing online.

Maybe it's just because I'm on a UK server on a weekday morning but I fail to see what people find so difficult about this game. I started playing today and have 10:5 win/loss.

'Nade launchers are hilarious. The mindgame potential is obscene... I've already had a couple of games that ended up with one grenade guy on each team circling cover and trying to fake each other out. Of course, the game's more about judging where your enemy's supposed to be rather than actually seeing him. A player of far better rank than I killed me off extremely quickly by guessing which direction my squad were facing based on their positioning.

Edit: Basic example of said scenario

Anyone who wants to challenge me can. Mention it in this thread. If I don't respond in a couple days, PM me to get my attention.

Same name if that was unclear.

Hitting Prime submits your turn. Hitting play or spacebar runs a simulation.

I use my forum handle too. If I'm playing, I'll probably be on TEXAS3 or something!

Yeah, the thought of losing is a big reason why I never could get into starcraft II

I like this game.
