With modding, you could make dwarven women give birth to 2-3 kids at once, giving them more baby shields to carry.

Now, if only we had a way to mod a Crossbow to shoot babies.

What other organic weapons do dwarves naturally have?

Enemies seem to focus babies, so having your tragedy-hardened warrior mothers carry a lot of babies into battle, they can be made into effective meat shields.

Couldn't we mod crossbow to use corpses as ammo? Or mod a new ranged that use a new type of ammo made of babies corpses?

Could we mod dwarves to have steel skin from birth until end of childhood?

Why only until end of childhood?
Why not have unstoppable supermendwarves until they reach max age?

You might be able to train the babies at dodging and unarmed combat skills, if you modded them to stay babies for a useful amount of time.  A child safe material for the infant danger creche might need to be modded in, but you could also just use featherwood training spears and apply more babies.  Using a cave blob as a sparing partner might be even better, because the child could learn biting.  It really depends on how dangerous "push" type attacks are and if the cave blob syndrome can cause real harm.

I think this could work and I just found a theme for my next fort!

Why not give Cats an ammo tag?  THAT should make their overpopulation useful "Urist McMarksdwarf is out of ammo" "Urist McMarksdwarf fired Cat at Goblin Target".

if i was to mod the age until childhood to say .. 99 years, would that mean my mother could potentially carry 99 angry babies into combat at once?

Have not tried it but it seems possible looking at the [BABY:X] tag in the raws. Although having a dwarf live 99 years in a fort seems weird.
