You can mod aquifers out fairly easily.
Take out [AQUIFER] In the inorganic ston/soil etc files.

EU3, playing as Netherlands, trying to dismantle the HRE. I declared war on Bohemia, the latest and last emperor, attacking with 40 regiments from the south, 36 from the north and 16 in Poland. My 40 regiments attack the Bohemian main army of 24 regiments: win the first battle, pursue, win second battle, pursue, win third battle, pursue, win... wait what? They lost the fourth battle and got completely annihilated. Seriously game?

I didn't reload and still won, but that somewhat cooled my interest in this specific game.

Basically, whenever I play Empire Earth 2 against the AI. Ceasefire ends and all of a sudden more helicopters and battleships than their population limit can possibly support rushes onto my islands, followed up by troop landings(one of which I had to clear with a nuclear strike). Oh, and the 100 or so paratroopers I dropped all suddenly die really fast. (Was playing an Epoch 15 deathmatch)

I think I actually gave up on my megaproject before, after a triple-whammy attack having affected my construction process. My dwarves' morale was already nearly depleted, the wildlife wasn't any friendlier, and we got raided by goblins. And that was the initial embark. A couple more repeat incidents in order to balance things out (restock food, clear out the fort of critters, re-establish and enclose the project and stock/farms) and actually begin the project itself (got the skeleton made by then). I think by year 3-5 (in-game) was when my frustration got the best of me and I took a couple (real time) months hiatus on the project.

Also, in b4 Creepers and Endermen and Minecraft megaprojects/spelunking w/ valuable goods.

You didn't include my tale of woe in an MP game.

We had mined to a series of dungeons that lead to one of those rooms with lava as part of the floor. This lava room had diamonds in it, and this was the first time I wouuld have mined diamonds (Mining... isn't my usual thing to do). Naturally, I started bridging the gap to the diamonds, when my "friend" pushed me into the lava.

I had a sad.

Demon's Souls multiplayer: Invade the shrine of storms as a black phantom, find the player with 2 blue phantoms, meat cleaver one to death while the main player keeps trying to hurl fireballs at me while the other two try to strike me down with a great sword and dagger. I kill one with full meat cleaver combo which also keeps the other away, jump at the main player, get his health down to one fraction of it while taking fire spells to the face (but not being stunned due to meat cleaver combo), and kill him with a rolling attack.

In the next second the dagger guy backstabs and kills me.

Final Liberation tends to be pretty rage inducing at times. I think the most rage inducing battle I had was when the orks kept sending these two fliers in to bombard my tanks and run away while their infantry kept the reaction fire off the fliers. They were successively destroying all my tanks one by one, but the artillery and infantry located elsewhere were holding up pretty well and the baneblade was doing a good job taking out their tanks. And I just didn't feel like quitting a fight that must've been going on for half an hour by then. I even lost 6 tanks and a flier and considered those acceptable losses.

And then one of the fliers scored a lucky hit on the baneblade, destroying it in one hit (despite it having 4 hitpoints) from the front (where the armour is strongest). Half an hour of effort basically gone and doomed to failure by a total bullshit hit.

As a result I cussed a lot and swore never to play it again. But a few hours later I realized I've got nothing better to play and went back into it. :\

I remember a couple of days ago in TF2 where a spy killed me from three yards away with a knife.

My reaction had religious use of fuck and shit. I very nearly threw my controller at the damn TV.

Any time I play a game where me and my friend can kill each other.
Seriously, if PvP is turned on, it does not end well ever.
Hell, even if it's off, shit still goes down.

Still, it's very entertaining.
