Wait two weeks by sleeping as much as possible, eating only when nessecary, and playing some solitare while you wait for the time to pass.

Well, the sensible thing to do would be to wait the radiation out, so that's what you feel like doing. Feeling the need for at least some degree of defense, you grab the fake sword off the wall. You eat a bit, and sleep.
